Chennai Super Kings (CSK) produced an excellent bowling display in their previous match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) to win their first match of the tournament. After the disappointing loss in their first match against Delhi Capitals (DC), it was a welcome return to form for the CSK bowlers which saw them help the side climb to second place in the points table before dropping down after the other sides’ wins on Sunday.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) had a heartbreaking loss in their first match against PBKS when they fell short of a humongous target of 222 by just 4 runs. However, they put the disappointment behind them with a win in the second match against DC thanks to some clean striking from the Proteas duo of David Miller and Chris Morris. Today, CSK and RR will go head-to-head looking to notch up their second consecutive win.

Rajasthan Royals looked like a well-oiled team in their second match as the bowling attack came good with Jaydev Unadkat leading the way. Although the batting left a lot to be desired in spite of the victory, it was a confident showing that meant that RR were in good stead going into the middle stages of the tournament. Today’s match will be crucial for RR and they would want nothing but a win.
However, CSK look even stronger on paper, especially with their bowling attack looking in such fine form. The move to use Moeen Ali at No. 3 seems to be working wonders and although the form of the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni remains a concern, CSK would fancy their chances of winning this one and it would be surprise if they do.
