The mother of all rivalries is upon the cricketing circuit. India and Pakistan take on each other in the 6th game of the 2025 Asia Cup and undoubtedly this has been the hottest contest of any tournament.

However, this time around, the match has seen a different twist, with many Indians still feeling the wounds of the unfortunate and highly condemned Pahalgam attacks. This has sparked an intense outrage right through the country.

Individuals around the country have been calling for the match to be boycotted. Many feel playing a cricket match with Pakistan would be disrespectful to those who lost their lives in Pahalgam. Amid this boycott, IPL team Punjab Kings have come with an interesting tweet to show their support to the Pahalgam victims.

The tweet has the itinerary of the match however in the opponent’s box, Pakistan’s flag is missing signifying backlash towards the archrivals. The Kings have put their creativity forward in this tense atmosphere.

However, despite the boycott calls, the match is set to go ahead. The BCCI clarified that India would have to take part in multinational tournaments and cannot pull out as it would have to face the repercussions that come with it.

Former actor Zayed Khan makes a bold claim on India vs Pakistan

Recently ex-Indian captain Sourav Ganguly had suggested that the sport must go on and following suit a similar voice has appeared in Bollywood as well. Actor Zayed Khan expressed his opinion on the upcoming India vs Pakistan clash at the 2025 Asia Cup in an interview with ANI.

I think India will knock it out of the park. I think India is a very good team aur mujhe lagta hai ki 100 per cent India jeetne waali hai (I think India is going to win 100 per cent).

Zayed Khan said

Khan was confident about India’s chances in the match but made a bold claim when he was asked whether the team should take part in this fiery contest keeping in mind the unfortunate incidents of Pahalgam.

Kyu nahi yar, sports to sports hai, jo bhi sambandh bante hai ban ne do (Why not? Sport is a sport. Whatever relations can be made, let them be made).

Zayed Khan added

Khan was clear about his thoughts on the clash and wanted to keep the sport clean of any other thought. He also stressed on the relationship between the players stating that those should stay. Indian and Pakistani players have often been seen sharing a good bond on and off the field.
