Dana White has found himself in a tough position with the latest controversy created by featherweight star Bryce Mitchell. The UFC featherweight fighter and popular conspiracy theorist went viral for the wrong reasons as he praised Adolf Hitler and his ideologies. As expected, White had to face the media questions and he wasn’t happy at all.
Mitchell recently did a podcast on his YouTube channel, where he touched upon various controversial things. According to the fighter, Hitler did the right thing and wanted to save his country from the Jews. As expected, the media asked Dana White about any strict action against the fighter for the comments. However, the UFC CEO doesn’t think firing Mitchell would solve anything.
White did condemn Mitchell’s remarks and shared how social media things like this have become rampant. He talked about how the featherweight fighter apologized to the UFC for putting them in a tough situation but not for their opinions. White was extremely angry at Mitchell, and his disappointment was pretty much visible in his rant.

Mitchell has always been a controversial figure, known for his eccentric conspiracy theories. From flat Earth beliefs to school shooting conspiracies, the Arkansas native thrives on challenging mainstream narratives. However, this time, he seems to have taken things to an entirely new level. The fans were also extremely upset at Mitchell.
Dana White doesn’t like censoring his fighters
Dana White has always believed that UFC fighters have the right to free speech and not restrict their opinions. He allows fighters to express themselves openly but acknowledges they must face any public backlash or consequences from their statements. White’s approach is largely hands-off unless a fighter’s words or actions negatively affect the UFC’s business interests, sponsors, or partnerships.
This philosophy is evident with outspoken fighters like Colby Covington, Bryce Mitchell, and Sean Strickland, who frequently share controversial opinions. Last year at UFC 297, Strickland made headlines for his infamous press conference in Canada. While asked about it, White confirmed that he doesn’t put leashes on his fighters.
Unlike other sports organizations with strict speech policies, White supports fighters’ freedom to speak, regardless of public or media reactions. In the past, he has ditched multi-million dollar deals, which forced him to censor his opinions. While it works with constitutional rights, it is certainly a double-edged sword.
