Jon Jones‘ limited activity often draws criticism from both fans and experts alike. Despite holding the heavyweight title, Jones has avoided unifying it with interim champion Tom Aspinall, raising widespread concern across the MMA community. However, recent developments hint that Jones’ reluctance may stem from something more serious than mere scheduling and financial conflicts.

Jones is in Thailand filming ALF Reality, Russia’s TUF version, while fully embracing tropical views, martial arts, and local culture. In a viral clip, he FaceTimed Russian Jiu-jitsu icon Kamil Gadzhiyev, discussing plans for another ten years of fighting. Jones laughed hysterically at the idea, cutting off speculation by cryptically stating that “he’s done” with fighting.

At thirty-seven, Jones is clearly considering retirement soon, making it unlikely he continues fighting for another entire decade ahead. His viral chat with Gadzhiyev sparked widespread curiosity, suggesting deeper insight into Jones’ present mindset and long-term intentions. This perspective aligns with his recent inactivity, having competed just twice over five years, signaling a potential gradual exit strategy.

Jones recently confirmed he spoke with UFC about his future plans, but the promotion hasn’t made anything official just yet. Despite that, UFC CEO Dana White keeps assuring fans the Jones vs. Aspinall fight will happen within this year. Meanwhile, delays continue frustrating Aspinall, who watches prime years slip away without entering the octagon to secure fight purses.

Aspinall now holds the record as UFC’s longest-reigning interim champion, highlighting the frustrating wait for a unification bout. He’s attempted everything imaginable to provoke Jones into accepting the fight, but nothing has managed to break through successfully. Reaching his limit, Aspinall is now willing to fight anyone, abandoning hopes of facing Jones in favor of staying active.

Jon Jones doesn’t care about getting stripped

Jon Jones is undoubtedly the most successful and decorated fighter in UFC history, which is filled with top athletes. He became the youngest UFC champion ever, defeating legends and dominating a golden era of light heavyweights. His resume includes victories over Daniel Cormier, Alexander Gustafsson, ‘Shogun’ Rua, Rampage Jackson, and several others, each elite in their prime, showcasing Jones’ ability to adapt flawlessly.

Jones’ career includes serious controversies, hit-and-run incidents, PED suspensions, and battery charges that tarnish his otherwise legendary accomplishments significantly. Still, the UFC stands by him due to his massive fan base, drawing power, and unmatched legacy that boosts viewership every time. Due to this backing, Jones ignores criticism, making it clear he’s not driven by fan expectations or media pressure anymore.

Stripped? Lol do I come across as the type of person who cares about things like that ?

Recently, the UFC faced backlash after allegedly stripping Islam Makhachev of his lightweight throne following a move to welterweight. Fans quickly pointed out the inconsistency, demanding Jones be stripped too, citing his prolonged inactivity since winning the last heavyweight title defence. Despite growing pressure, the UFC appears hesitant to act similarly with Jones, sparking debates about favoritism and inconsistent title defense policies.

Is Jon Jones scared of fighting Tom Aspinall?

Tom Aspinall has repeatedly demonstrated why he’s among the best fighters currently competing on the UFC roster. He rarely spends much time inside the octagon, often finishing his opponents decisively within the first or second round. His speed, precision, and footwork are remarkable for a heavyweight, making him a unique challenge for anyone in the division.

Even Jon Jones has acknowledged the danger Aspinall presents, recognizing his potential to disrupt the established legacy with a devastating knockout. As a result, he previously asked for six months to prepare for the fight. It remains to be seen how the UFC deals with the situation and maintains fairness within divisions.
