Israel Adesanya has been the face of UFC for a long time since he became the middleweight champion. The fighter has been part of several high-grossing pay-per-view fights during his championship reign. However, as time has passed, the landscape has shifted, and Adesanya himself has gracefully embraced these changes
As a champion, Israel Adesanya faced everybody that the UFC threw at him and liked to remain as active as possible. In contrast, Izzy has now revealed that he would fight less frequently and take things slowly. In his latest YouTube video, the fighter gave the reasons for his new approach.
Adesanya, in his prime days, was one of the most entertaining fighters and fans loved his striking. Other than being an incredible fighter, Izzy brought in flair and knew the business surrounding UFC. He used all this to his benefit and became the superstar he is now but that has also come with an array of criticism.
However, for the ‘Last Stylebender’, the last few years remained tough as a professional fighter. From losing his championship to getting dominated by Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis, Izzy has experienced a downfall. While this has forced him to make some changes, it hasn’t necessarily damaged his confidence.
Former rival predicts Israel Adesanya’s next fight
Israel Adesanya is well known for taking losses like true sportsmanship. Unlike others, he doesn’t devalue his opponents or make excuses. With his last loss, the fighter maintained the same and is now ready to get back inside the octagon.
The UFC has chosen Nassourdine Imavov as Adesanya’s next opponent scheduled for Fight Night Saudi Arabia. Ahead of the fight, Izzy’s former rival Robert Whittaker shared his predictions. Irrespective of two losses, the ‘Reaper’ showed his appreciation for Adesanya.

It’s the first time since 2019 that Adesanya will fight on a non-PPV event but that doesn’t concern the fighter. According to Izzy, in Saudi Arabia with all the fans, it’s different from fighting inside the UFC Apex. It would be interesting to see how Izzy manages to defend his spot against young and hungry talents like Imavov.
