Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis will finally clash in the octagon this August. ‘The Last Stylebender’ is back in action after taking a hiatus since his last title fight at UFC 293. Their recent face-off at the pre-fight press conference showed that ‘The Last Stylebender’ is fired up. So much so that he almost put his brother in danger.
Israel Adesanya recently sent out a tweet on X. The caption read- “New skill unlocked! #UFC305.” The video followed Adesanya and others down a hallway. The former UFC champion is seen setting out a kick in the air. Looking excited, he turned to his brother, David Adesanya, and stopped him to show him his ‘new kick’.
As Adesanya turned and executed the kick, he almost hit his elder brother in the head. Adesanya quickly stopped and hugged his brother in the form of a comic apology. However, David did not even seem to react to his head almost getting kicked off by the former two-time middleweight champion, and he kept on walking. The video ended with Justin Bieber’s superhit song ‘Sorry’ which fans found to be hilarious.
However, it does not seem like the Kiwi would be sorry if he kicked Du Plessis’s head off in the octagon. In about a few weeks, Israel Adesanya will lock horns with reigning middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305. They will duke it out at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia where ‘The Last Stylebender’ will try to reclaim his championship title.
Israel Adesanya highlights what it takes to become a UFC champion
Israel Adesanya is a two-time UFC middleweight champion with five title defenses under his belt. One of the top stars in the promotion, Adesanya has maintained one of the most active fight careers in the 185 lbs weight class. That level of consistency came with a lot of sacrifice and pain.
‘The Last Stylebender’ recently did an interview with the team of TODAY. In that discussion, he explained what it takes to reach the heights of a championship in the UFC and how it is not for everybody.
You know, everyone wants to be a champion till you have to train for 5 rounds, 5 minutes each time, and then have to do it in front of millions and millions of people, in front of the whole world.Israel Adesanya on TODAY
The UFC star highlighted that every sport has some degree of risk of violence attached to it. However, as per Adesanya MMA is the ultimate sport. He called back to UFC CEO, Dana White’s statement about how the fight was in the DNA and how fighting has a primal appeal that makes everybody stop and watch.
