ISSF World Cup Croatia: Aishwary finishes 6th in Men’s 50m Rifle 3P

After reaching the finals in Men’s 10m Air Rifle, young shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar repeated the feat in 50m Rifle 3 Positions as well. Aishwary so far is the only Indian rifle finalist at Croatia.

Aishwary, won won gold in this event at the Delhi World Cup and finished 7th in AR earlier in Osijek, was placed 4th after the kneeling round but ultimately ended up ended up 6th after an average prone series.

Serhiy Kulish of Ukraine pipped Russia’s Sergey Kamenskiy to gold after the latter scored an 8.4 on the penultimate shot. Slovakian Patrik Jany got the bronze.

Aishwary had earlier sneaked through into qualifications with a score of 1176-61x for 8th place that was later upgraded to 7th after Russian Denis Sokolov was penalized 2 points. Kulish with 1182 placed 1st in qualifications. The other Indian Sanjeev Rajput finished 17th with a score of 1173-58x.

Women’s 25m Pistol

On day 1 of qualifications, Rahi Sarnobat is placed 3rd with 295-14x after the precision stage. Rahi has a great chance of qualifying since the rapid-fire stage scheduled for tomorrow is her stronger suit. Manu Bhaker, 9th at present with 292-13x, has a fair chance.

Skeet Mixed Team

In a close match, Chile’s Francisca Crovetto and Hector Barahona beat Mikola Milchev and Iryna Malovichko 35-34. Crovetto had earlier won silver in Women’s skeet. Italy’s Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti beat Czech Republic in the bronze match.
