Italian rapper Fedez was slammed by Jannik Sinner‘s fans for comparing the four-time Grand Slam champion to Adolf Hitler. Fedez took to his Instagram story to share a verse of his new song.

The last line compared Sinner’s accent to Hitler only because of the fact that the 24-year-old is from South Tyrol- Italy’s northernmost region, also an autonomous province. The majority of the population in South Tyrol uses German as its first language. Sinner’s first language is also German, and his Italian only improved when he moved to Bordighera at the age of 13.

They canonized a 15-year-old boy for the miracle of playing PlayStation without swearing. They shot an American anti-abortion activist. RELAX, GUYS, THE POPE IS STILL IN THE VATICAN! Have you heard what Elly Schlein said? ‘I condemn Israel, but I have many Jewish friends.’ The Italians have a new idol named Jannik Sinner. A purebred Italian with Adolf Hitler’s accent.

Fedez’s lyrics read

Sinner’s fans perceived the lyrics as an insult to the former World No.1. The outspoken rapper also included several current figures in his new song, including Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated while he was hosting a debate in Utah.

Fans accuse Fedez of insulting Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner‘s fans just couldn’t understand the Adolf Hitler comparison, just because he grew up in a German-speaking region. Some fans accused Fedez of trying to stay relevant by using Sinner’s name in his lyrics.

Sinner has so far progressed to six finals this year, winning two titles. He defeated Alexander Zverev at the Australian Open and later took his revenge on Carlos Alcaraz by clinching Wimbledon.

Sinner played every Grand Slam final this season, becoming the youngest man in the Open Era to do so. He will next be playing the China Open, where he defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final in 2023, but last year lost the final to the six-time Grand Slam champion.

Angelo Binaghi on Jannik Sinner’s Davis Cup participation

Sinner skipped the Laver Cup, which is scheduled to start on September 19. It’s also uncertain whether he will be playing another team event- the Davis Cup Finals, which Italy won in 2023 and 2024. Italian Tennis Federation President Angelo Binaghi said that even he is unsure about Sinner’s participation.

I believe it’s also a problem for Spain regarding Alcaraz. I think it’s too early to know if they will manage, as Jannik has done in the last two years, to play in the Davis Cup. He has been the true leader of our team in the last two victories, and I believe he has already proven everything, among many things, showing his attachment to the blue jersey and the values it represents more than anyone else.

Angelo Binaghi said (H/T: Corriere dello Sport)

The Italian has not yet won a Masters 1000 title this year, with his last title in this category being last year’s Shanghai Masters, which he won by defeating Novak Djokovic. Since the Italian Open, whenever Sinner and Alcaraz are in the same draw, they have ended up reaching the final, facing each other five times, with Sinner winning only at Wimbledon.

The Shanghai Masters is the first tournament since the US Open where both the World No.1 and World No.2 will be playing. Alcaraz will be making his debut at the Japan Open, scheduled to start on September 24 in Tokyo. But before that, he will be making his second appearance at the Laver Cup and will play under new captain Yannick Noah.
