After Real Madrid‘s Champions League victory, Federico Valverde took a dig at Liverpool’s defender, Andy Robertson, and sarcastically said, “it’s more difficult to see my son than to defend Andy Robertson.”

Valverde shone as Real won their 14th European crown in Paris, defeating Liverpool 1-0. He was instrumental in the game’s lone goal, wonderfully staging Vinicius Junior in the second half. The Uruguayan was colossal throughout the game, giving Robertson a hard time and even scoring a goal on the Liverpool defender’s flank.

He also made a light-hearted remark about the left-back shortly after the outcome. It’s’more tough to watch his kid than to mark’ the Liverpool player, he claims. With his youngster on his shoulders, he added, “It’s more difficult to monitor my son than it is to mark Robertson.”

Following their Champions League victory, Real conducted a parade in which supporters came to the Bernabeu to welcome their squad back.

During the trophy presentation, Valverde said: “The celebrations? Casemiro explained how things operate here, but the fact is that everything is unbelievable. Wow.”

“I got up and my whole body hurts. The final? It was incredible. It was important that the Champions League returned to Madrid!”

Carlo Ancellotti started Valverde over Rodrigo in the right wing. Federico Valverde impressed everyone with his performance at the champions league final and was instrumental for Realto lift its 14th UCL title.

He even received high praise from former Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard. Gerrard, who was working as an expert for BT sport applauded his assist for the match’s only goal scored by Vini Jr.
