“I’ve been in the gym since the fight, training extremely hard,” says Brandon Moreno looking for a rematch with Deiveson Figueiredo
Brandon Moreno, the flyweight star is ready to go and get the UFC title. The star claims the ball is in the current flyweight champion, Deiveson Figueiredo’s court. Both the flyweight stars went head to head last December for the title. The bout ended in a majority draw.
Brandon is healthy and training and hopes for the UFC Flyweight title rematch against the champion. Moreno has a record of 18-5-2 in the flyweight division and hasn’t fought since his draw at UFC 256 against Figueiredo.
Brandon hopes for the rematch to be held in April and is waiting for Deiveson’s reply. “I’ve been in the gym since the fight, training extremely hard,” Moreno recently told in an interview with MMA Junkie. “In my conversations with my manager, Jason House, I told him that I’m ready for April, and he’s pushing the UFC hard.
But apparently, Figueiredo thinks a little differently than us. When he was cornering his brother, he looked a little chubby, so I don’t know if April would work.” With the title bout in 2020 ending up in a draw, UFC President Dana White also has expressed his interest in the rematch for the Flyweight title.
“Wanting to fight Henry over me is just a financial decision for him,” says Brandon on Deiveson’s interest to fight Henry Cejudo
After UFC 256, Figueiredo has aimed for a fight against retired champion of the Bantamweight and Flyweight division, Henry Cejudo. Moreno understands why his rival wants to make this move but still hopes UFC pushes the rematch. The Henry and Deiveson fight has a great potential to make a lot of money.
“It’s easy, he just fights for money, and he knows that he has a real and dangerous problem against me,” Moreno said. “I’m not the quote-unquote pay-per-view superstar, and he needs to get more cash, a bigger payday. Wanting to fight Henry over me is simply a financial decision for him.”
Having boxed for 5 rounds against Figueiredo, Moreno feels like he has figured out the recipe to a victory. “I’ve discovered the great secret of ‘Figgy,’ Do you think Moreno can win against Figgy this time?
