Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza vs Marvin Vettori has been confirmed for UFC 256, various sources say. Souza was the first fighter to withdraw from a fight after testing positive for the novel coronavirus back in May 2019. He was scheduled to face Uriah Hall, which unfortunately didn’t come to fruition. The Brazilian, Souza last fought in November, 2019 against Jan Blachowicz, with whom he lost via split decision. It has been almost two years since his last victory, Souza will be looking to get back to winning ways.

More recently, in fact just two days back we saw Souza calling out Yoel Romero via Instagram, as he was actively looking for a fight. Given that, now he has got an opponent, Souza would be a relieved man.

Marvin Vettori is currently on a hot win streak

Marvin Vettori

As for Souza’s opponent, Marvin Vettori; is on a hot win streak having won all of his last three fights. In fact many still believe, Marvin is the only fighter who gave Israel Adesanya a run for his money. In a hotly contested fight, Adesanya somehow managed to see off Vettori, only to win via split decision. Therefore, the Italian is someone who means business and Souza must be wary of Vettori’s youth and striking.
