Jake Paul almost missed weight at his upcoming boxing match against Mike Perry. Previously preparing for a heavyweight showdown against Mike Tyson, Paul took the Mike Perry matchup instead of waiting to fight later this year. However, Perry vs. Paul is set at cruiserweight instead of heavyweight which almost had Paul miss the weight limit.
Mike Perry vs. Jake Paul was set at the 200lbs cruiserweight limit. Paul stepped in at 200.4 lbs in his weigh-in, thus missing weight. He quickly returned and stepped on the scales under towels to make the 200lbs weight limit on his second attempt. Paul appeared drained as he left the stage and let out a cry in a cracked voice.

Meanwhile, Mike Perry comfortably made weight at 196.6lbs. That is almost four pounds under what Paul weighed in at. Paul vs. Perry is set on the same date ‘The Problem Child’ was initially supposed to take on Mike Tyson. Paul was supposedly on course to weigh in at around 230lbs for that fight.
Now the BKFC star and ‘The Problem Child’ will clash at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Perry is a former UFC fighter turned bare-knuckle boxer. He will be making his professional boxing debut against Paul. Rest on the fight card is Amanda Serrano vs. Stevie Morgan under the junior-welterweight limit and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Uriah Hall at the cruiserweight limit.
Jake Paul sends a message to Dana White ahead of Mike Perry fight
Things have never been cool between Dana White and Jake Paul. The two have gone back and forth against each other for years now. Now with White’s former fighter stepping in to fight Paul, ‘The Problem Child’ has issued a challenge to the UFC CEO.
After a heated face-off ahead of the fight, Paul did an onstage interview with Ariel Helwani. There Paul claimed that the UFC CEO has been conspiring against him to get his MMA fighters to put him out. But ‘El Gallo’ spat back saying that he would mess up every fighter the conspiring Dana White sends his way.
Dana White said that he's going to give him a UFC contract if he can knock me out. Well, guess what Dana, you can rip up the f*****g contract because I'm going to f**k up Mike Perry. Anyone you send at me, any one of your MMA fighters is getting f****d up.Jake Paul in an onstage interview with Ariel Helwani
As of now, Paul has won against all the UFC veterans who stepped into the ring against him. Those include former champions Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, Paul’s first MMA opponent Ben Askren, and his most recent showdown against Nate Diaz. Now it will be interesting to see how Paul fares against Perry who has not lost a single fight since he stepped into bare-knuckle boxing.
