Nate Diaz recently got his first boxing win against former UFC fighter, Jorge Masvidal at the Honda Center, in California. The old rivals put on a show with Diaz taking the win via majority decision. However, things have since taken a wild turn and YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul is now involved in the mix.
Diaz recently made headlines as he prepares to sue the promoter of Fanmio for $9 million. According to Diaz, he was promised to be paid $10 million for the Jorge Masvidal fight but only got a million. Jake Paul, who has an ongoing rivalry with Nate Diaz, took this opportunity to mock the UFC legend over rejecting his previous PFL offer.
Guess that $15 million from PFL needs to be taken a little more seriously you dummy. Yesterday’s price is not today’s price. Oh and Masvidal you broke and can’t sell sh**Jake Paul via X
Jake Paul and Nate fought each other last year and Paul took the win via unanimous decision. However, Diaz wasn’t satisfied with the loss and wanted more smoke. PFL founder also offered the Stockton native a hefty $15 million offer but Diaz didn’t respond. Now, Diaz finds himself taking the help of the law to get his money from Fanmio.
However, there is a catch to the situation at hand. Solomon Engel, CEO of Fanimo, recently released a statement in the public addressing Diaz’s lawsuit that presents an alternative narrative. Engel claims that Diaz has already received the agreed-upon sum and is eager to resolve the matter in court. Nonetheless, all this has been extremely amusing for Jake Paul, who is preparing for his next boxing match.
Jake Paul’s next mega challenge in hand
One of the biggest fights that was going to happen was the boxing bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. However, due to health issues, Tyson had to bail out. In such a situation, BKFC superstar Mike Perry stepped in to fight with Paul on July 20th.
Going into the fight, both Paul and Perry had made several promises including a potential bare-knuckle fight in the future. However, ‘Platinum Perry’ doesn’t think Paul will do that. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Perry talked about this in detail.
One thing I want to remind Jake over and over again is that he wouldn't do a bare-knuckle fight. Whether he says he would or not, especially after this fight in 10-ounce gloves.Mike Perry via MMA Fighting
Ahead of the fight, Perry had also accused Jake Paul of using steroids but is confident about his win. The former UFC fighter is currently on a hot streak and is undefeated in BKFC. Although boxing is different, Perry’s ability to take hits and give them back might be dangerous for Paul. Nevertheless, fans are finally excited to see Paul taking on a fighter who is not old and is currently active.
