At 27 years old, the up-and-coming boxer Jake Paul is known for his captivating presence both in and out of the boxing ring. Over time, he has participated in a variety of engaging and entertaining activities. However, this wasn’t always the case. Recently, the ‘Problem Child’ opened up about a dark and deeply personal moment in his life. As such, Paul even considered dying by suicide at that moment.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Paul delved into a wide range of captivating subjects. During that, he shed light on both his professional endeavors and personal experiences. Interestingly, while discussing that, the YouTuber-turned-boxer opened up about compelling details from his teenage years. Paul even disclosed that he grappled with depression as a result of setbacks in his YouTube career and contemplated killing himself by suicide.

I’m drinking. I’m depressed and not having a good relationship with either of my parents or Logan… It was f*cked up. I just tried to do good my whole life and here I am with what felt like nothing. I had a plan… I was going to put a bunch of gas cans in my Lamborghini and get really drunk and drive off the top of this cliff in Calabasas…

Jake appeared to be thriving in his career at that point in time. He was a prominent figure in the Disney Channel series called Bizaardvark as well. However, things took a turn when Jake received substantial criticism for his brother Logan Paul‘s controversial YouTube videos. The public backlash had a detrimental impact on Jake’s professional development. As a result, it left the younger Paul brother feeling despondent and disheartened.

Not only that, the Problem Child, as his name suggests, had various other intriguing controversies surrounding him. Interestingly, amidst all of that, Jake stepped up and decided to shun those criticisms and backlashes against him. With that, the 27-year-old showed interest in boxing and hasn’t looked back since then. Currently, he boasts an impressive record of 10 wins and 1 loss and is determined to continue improving in the coming years.

Boxing is a sport that only dedicated athletes reach the pinnacle of. The Problem Child seems to be aiming for that spot. He made his professional debut in 2020 against AnEsonGib and has since defeated several formidable opponents, including former UFC fighters. I lacked discipline, lacked routine, lacked community, lacked passion, lacked progress. Boxing gave me all of those things… I need boxing on a daily basis just to function. I love the sport…
