Jake Paul will not be intimidated. More importantly, he will not be silenced. ‘Problem Child’ thus counters with some problems from his end now. After his claims on Matchroom Boxing and promoter Eddie Hearn backfired, he thus takes the war to them. Judge Paul Gardephe from the U.S. District Court ruled against Paul’s motion to dismiss previously. Paul is preparing for a pro bout with the one and only Mike Tyson next in under a month.
“El Gallo” has recently been the subject of a defamation lawsuit as a result of his allegations against Matchroom Boxing. The company is at the helm of long-time promoter Hearn. It was in this vein that they bribed Judge Glenn Feldman to give favorable scorecards in the Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor affair. Paul made similar claims about the Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk title fight. The social media boxer is now hence countersuing.
Feldman joined Hearn’s suit as a co-plaintiff. The countersue is on grounds of “reimbursement of his attorneys’ fees, compensatory damages, and punitive damages.” Paul claims the lawsuit is an “intimidation tactic” to stifle his freedom of speech.
Per SBNation Network reports, the Ohio boxer says they (Matchroom Boxing) meant to silence other critics from the boxing industry as well. Jake is Amanda’s replacement via Most Valuable Promotions, while Katie is Eddie Hearns’s fighter.
The fighters remain amicable, and seven-division champ Serrano even called her out after Stevie Morgan (14-2, 13 KOs) at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. But Paul is now firing back saying his claims were true and not on the lines of maliciously false or defamatory statements. Hence, he strings the $100 million defamation with one of his own on the Brit promoter. Serrano-Taylor serves as next bill in his fight with Mike Tyson.
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson official trailer debuts for Netflix bout
The boxing spectacle of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is only a month away. Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) yesterday released the official trailer for the November 15th card, which will broadcast live from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
In addition to the Paul vs. Tyson Netflix theme broadcast, super lightweight world champion Taylor defends her undisputed unified featherweight title against Amanda Serrano in the 10-round co-main event. Also on the main card is the 12-round WBC welterweight title fight between reigning champion Mario Barrios and highly-rated Abel Ramos. Check out the first media trailer for the Paul vs. Tyson affair below.
Tyson suffered a cross-country ulcer flare-up recently. Since resuming training in late July after a six-week medical layoff, Tyson has released a handful of video clips. They’re not enough to prove that he has the reflexes to win, but the 58-year-old former world champion says he does. As a last-hail Mary, “Baddest Man,” Tyson even requested the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations to officially have it as a pro-sanctioned fight.
Meanwhile, Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) is out to prove he’ll be needing that and all the amps against the new blood. Tyson wanted war, one he will be delivering after his eight-round cruiserweight battle on the DAZN pay-per-view. As such, this can be a clinical scare or a shot clinic for the ages!
