Even Mike Tyson isn’t enough for Jake Paul, the controversial YouTube star-turned-pro boxer who has called out Canelo Alvarez for quite some time. Paul wants to remain ambitious in boxing and wants to win a world title. Nevertheless, Canelo has never acknowledged Paul. In his last fight, Alvarez fought Jaime Munguia and cruised to a UD win.

While many wanted to see the Mexican boxing superstar fight David Benavidez, the fight with Munguia was still a big success. This is mainly because Alvarez is considered to be the face of boxing. However, Paul has recently staked his claim on his title after the buzz he has generated with his fight against Tyson. During the most recent press conference, he even called out Alvarez for the live Netflix fight.

Paul gave his message to Alvarez in Spanish and wanted to make it clear that he was here to take his title. Furthermore, this happened after the Tyson vs. Paul fight broke the gate record at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Reports suggest that 80,000 people will attend the fight live.

In comparison, Alvarez’s last fight at AT&T Stadium had a 75,000-gate record. Hence, Paul celebrated breaking the Mexican boxing star’s record and even proceeded to call him out for a fight. So far, Alvarez has shown no interest in this fight, though.

When Sean O’Malley warned Jake Paul about Canelo Alvarez

UFC bantamweight champ Sean O’Malley gave his thoughts on the social media sensation and celebrity boxer Jake Paul. This was after his fifth consecutive professional victory in 2021 against Tyron Woodley. Furthermore, right after the fight, ‘The Problem Child’ started to call out Alvarez.

This prompted O’Malley to speak about Paul’s interest in fighting Alvarez. ‘Suga’ mentions that it remains a possibility down the road. However, O’Malley believed that it wouldn’t be a good idea because of Alvarez’s skills and physicality.

Dude, Canelo's a different motherf****r. Canelo is terrifying in that boxing ring. Terrifying. His neck is thicker than mine.

O’Malley also believes that the fight would only happen several years later, and Alvarez would only do it to secure a huge payday. O’Malley went on to list potential opponents for Paul on the UFC roster, including Jorge Masvidal and Kamaru Usman. He also predicted it would be another closely fought bout for Paul.
