Jake Paul is one of the most enigmatic figures in the combat sports community. Over the years, the ‘Problem Child’ has consistently engaged in back-and-forth banter with several top fighters. Recently, he poked fun at former UFC superstar Nate Diaz. However, Diaz didn’t take much time to respond and issued a bold challenge to Paul.

The ‘Problem Child’ recently achieved an impressive victory against boxing legend Mike Tyson. However, in the weeks following that win, his criticisms of other fighters have resurfaced. Recently, Nate Diaz found himself on the receiving end of Jake Paul’s remarks, as Paul accused the former UFC star of being afraid to face him. Hours later, Diaz responded with a sharp retort, challenging Paul to sign the potential fight contract.

Sign the contract Scary and not in 12 months from now and in a sh*tty organization.

Interestingly, both Paul and Diaz have fought each other once before. Their match was a boxing bout in August 2023, where the Problem Child decisively defeated the ’Stockton Slugger’ by unanimous decision.

The rematch was scheduled to be an MMA fight, and Paul didn’t hesitate to step up, even offering a staggering million-dollar proposal to fight Diaz. However, the Stockton Slugger was not interested in competing against the Problem Child under the PFL banner.

Dan Hardy doesn’t want Nate Diaz to fight Jake Paul in an MMA fight

Nate Diaz rejected the opportunity to fight Jake Paul under the PFL banner because he viewed it as an inferior promotion. As a veteran in the sport of MMA, Diaz has established a strong reputation in the MMA community through his successful career in the UFC.

Due to his impressive legacy in MMA, many believe that Diaz has a lot to lose in a potential fight against Paul. Top MMA analyst Dan Hardy offered an interesting perspective on this possible matchup. In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, Hardy shared his prediction for the fight between Diaz and Paul, along with an analysis of how he thinks it will unfold.

The reality is that Nate Diaz isn’t going to take that risk, he’s not going to risk his MMA legacy getting clipped by Jake Paul. It’s just not worth the risk for Nate.

Interestingly, Hardy has several alternate options for Paul to fight besides Diaz. One notable name on the list is former UFC star Jorge Masvidal. Recently, the Problem Child even expressed interest in facing Masvidal. Now, it will be intriguing to see whether Paul ultimately fights either Diaz or Masvidal in his potential MMA debut.
