Jamahal Hill recently talked about his controversial moment at UFC 300 on his YouTube channel. Hill made a foul when he kicked Pereira in the groin and referee Herb Dean tried to interfere. But Alex Pereira decided to continue and moments later knocked Jamahal Hill down. While many took to social media to call out this controversial moment, here is what Jamahal Hill had to say about it:
Jamahal Hill recently sat down to address his UFC 300 loss to Alex Pereira. Hill got knocked down in the first round but right before that, Herb Dean tried to call for a timeout. Pereira called it off and many found that to be controversial. Hill addressed this saying: “I’ve seen the comments about the controversy. People speaking on the stoppage and things like that. After I kicked Alex in the hip, and it appeared to be a low blow… I’m just going to say is protect yourself at all times. You know?”
According to Hill, he took no damage from the fight. Even while getting knocked down and when he got pounded on the ground afterward, he claimed to be fully conscious. Hill claimed responsibility for it and said he took it as a lesson for his next fight.
Jamahal Hill is already booked for his next fight. The former champion will face Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 303 on the Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler undercard. The fight will happen at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be interesting to see if Hill makes a comeback in this fight.
