Julian Nagelsmann‘s Germany ran riot of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Nations League. 7-0 read the final score line as Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz took center stage for the hosts. The win meant that Germany qualified for the knockouts and that their opponents were eliminated from Group 3 of League A.
The hosts had an early lift-off thanks to Jamal Musiala, whose accurate header had Germany leading in under 90 seconds. The second goal was much less appealing to the eyes as Robert Andrich‘s volley deflected off of Tim Kleindienst and found its way into the bottom right corner.
The third and final goal of the first half came from Arsenal star Kai Havertz, who was set up for an easy finish courtesy of a Florian Wirtz assist. The visitors were unable to create significant opportunities for themselves, as exemplified by the solitary ‘big’ chance created in the 90 minutes.

The second half was an entirely different story altogether, as Real Madrid ‘target’ Wirtz stepped up his game. The 21-year-old recently made headlines for being shortlisted as the replacement for Toni Kroos at Madrid.
Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz runs the show against Bosnia and Herzegovina
As soon as the second half kicked off, Florian Wirtz took center stage. The Leverkusen forward bagged his first goal from a brilliant free-kick. Replays showed that the swerve on the youngster’s strike managed to completely fool the opposition keeper.
Wirtz went on to complete his double just seven minutes later. Kai Havertz‘s deflected shot found its way to an unmarked Wirtz at the far post. The 21-year-old did well to guide the ball into an empty net as the score read 5-0.
Leroy Sane’s powerful strike from close range hit the keeper and bounced into the net. The visitors’ misery hadn’t ended yet, as the final nail in the coffin was hammered in by Tim Kleindienst.

The No. 9’s acrobatic finish led the ball past Nikola Vasilj, thereby making it 7-0. Besides securing qualification, the win also meant that die Mannschaft became the first-ever side to score seven goals in a Nations League fixture.
