The Los Angeles Clippers James Harden has been in the league for fifteen years now. Over time, the talented shooter has added many titles to his name including an MVP award. Harden is famously known for his unique scoring skills. However, that is not how the guard wants the fans to remember him.

Recently, James Harden sat down for an interview with BasketballNews. During the interview, Harden was asked how he wants to be remembered once he retires from the league. While answering, Harden did not mention any of his achievements, instead, he talked about his love for the game as a player.

That I was a winner, that I was a teacher. I had a different love for the game. Put the money aside, I really enjoy the game of basketball and playing it.
James Harden said.

The Los Angeles Clippers guard further talked about inspiring young players in the world. Harden like many other players in the league, has traveled to Europe and countries like China to meet aspiring basketball players. Harden hopes people remember him for that as it comes from his pure love for the game.

The guard was amazing in the first four games against the Dallas Mavericks, but the team lost due to lack of help from Harden’s teammates. The Clippers had to end their season early in the first-round series. As Harden talked about his legacy in the interview, the star’s future is uncertain as he is an unrestricted free agent.

James Harden once admitted winning a championship would be ‘very important’ for his legacy

With the Clippers’ loss, Harden ended another season in his career without a championship. Considering the player’s resume, Harden’s lack of championship often becomes a topic of discussion in the NBA world. However, a few months back, Harden himself admitted to the consequences of his zero titles.

Back in January Harden had an interview with Fox Sports where he discussed his journey in the league. During the interview, Harden was asked about what a championship ring would mean to his legacy. Harden gave an honest answer as he talked about the difficulty of winning it all.

Very important. It's been like that. I always want to give myself a chance to win. I know how very difficult that is. There's only one team standing at the end of the year. So, I'll continue to keep trying to do that.
James Harden said via HoopsHype.

Harden received backlash from fans for calling himself a ‘winner’ considering his playoff record. However, now it seems as if Harden is not bothered by no championships as he mentioned his love for the game to be part of his legacy.
