Jannik Sinner claimed his sixth tour-level title of the season at the ATP Finals in Turin after overcoming Carlos Alcaraz in the final. After the victory, the World No.2 revealed that he has not yet proposed to his model girlfriend Lalia Hasanovic. The 24-year-old produced a dominant performance at the season-ending tournament.

Sinner and Alcaraz met for the 16th time at the ATP Finals championship match on Sunday (November 15), the final installment of the “Sinacaraz” rivalry for 2025. Sinner gave a dominant performance, particularly in the first set when he saved a set point with a big second serve that Alcaraz couldn’t return at 5-6.

The Italian star then took control of the tiebreak, by using drop shots and lobs to force Alcaraz to make errors. In the second set, Sinner took control of the match, making sure that Alcaraz didn’t break him. He then turned the match around by breaking the Spaniard in the twelfth game, winning the match 7-6(4), 7-5.

The win was Sinner’s second victory against Alcaraz this season after also beating the 22-year-old in four sets in the Wimbledon final. After the win, Sinner ran to the baseline for his girlfriend, Hasanovic, who was in his coaching box supporting throughout the match, and hugged her and his coaches.

After the post-match ceremony, Sinner was quizzed about the state of his relationship with Hasanovic, who posted a cryptic photo of a ring on social media over the weekend. The 24-year-old revealed that he has not yet proposed to Hasanovic, denying that he had no hand in the post that his girlfriend made on Instagram:

The ring Laila showed on social media? Did I have a hand in it? No, no.

Sinner went public with the Danish model earlier this year, just a few months after his split with tennis star Anna Kalinskaya. The former World No.1 has always kept his relationship with Hasanovic out of the public eye. Meanwhile, Hasanovic dated Formula One driver Mick Schumacher, the son of Michael Schumacher. The ex-Haas and Mercedes driver dated the Danish model for three years, splitting in April 2025.

Jannik Sinner analyzes the moment he gained an upper hand against Carlos Alcaraz at the ATP Finals in Turin

Sinner’s win against Alcaraz in the ATP Finals in Turin, showed a significant rise in his game from their last meeting at the US Open final. The World No. 2 was quick to time Alcaraz’s moves on the court and tactics, making it hard for the Spaniard to fully dominate the game. During his press conference, he analyzed the moment he began to play effectively against Alcaraz that eventually led to his victory:

We both started off missing because we know each other, what we have to do. When you play a final against a very, very tough opponent, you tend to miss a bit more. It’s normal. But we both had our tactics clear in our mind, I felt like. The second set, maybe the level was a bit higher because of a bit more rallies, a bit more difficult to get through Carlos. But the key moments, they’re always there, you know? 30-All at times. Other moments are also 2-1 in the first set.

However, four of Sinner’s six losses came against Alcaraz, with the remaining two coming against players ranked outside the Top ten. Alexander Bublik and Tallon Griekspoor were the other two to defeat the Italian star at the Halle Open and Rolex Shanghai Masters in October. Sinner also won two Grand Slams, at the Australian Open in January and Wimbledon in July.
