Zverev played his first Grand Slam final at the 2020 US Open, where he lost to Dominic Thiem after being two sets up. His second Grand Slam final came at the 2024 Roland Garros, where he lost despite leading two sets to one against Carlos Alcaraz.

Jannik Sinner’s prize money revealed at the Australian Open

Jannik Sinner had a great Australian Open, winning both big prize money and ranking points. He defended his title by beating world No. 2 Alexander Zverev in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-3. Sinner stayed strong throughout the final, never facing a break point. On his way to the trophy, he dropped just two sets—one to Tristan Schoolkate and another to Holger Rune.

With this win, Sinner earned another 2,000 ranking points, keeping him at the top of the ATP Rankings with 11,830 points. He remains almost 4,000 points ahead of his closest rivals. This victory marks his third Grand Slam title and adds to his growing success in the tennis world.

Sinner also received A$3,500,000 in prize money, which is A$350,000 more than he won in Melbourne last year. This achievement moves him to eighth place on the all-time list of men’s singles prize money earners. He now ranks above Carlos Alcaraz and Stan Wawrinka in career earnings.

Novak Djokovic, the all-time prize money leader, had a bittersweet tournament. He reached the semi-finals but had to retire due to injury during his match against Zverev. By matching last year’s performance, Djokovic earned 800 points, keeping him at 3,900 ranking points in the updated ATP Rankings.
