Jannik Sinner was seen in Monte Carlo with his girlfriend and Danish model Laila Hasanovic ahead of the tournament kick-off. The Italian star is currently at the tournament in Monaco, where he’s seeking to win his third ATP title of the season, after becoming the first man to complete the Sunshine Double since Roger Federer in 2017.

Sinner publicly confirmed his relationship with girlfriend Hasanovic at last year’s Vienna Open after trying to keep it a secret for months. Since then, the Danish model has become a regular presence in the World No.2’s box. However, she did not accompany Sinner during the Sunshine Double.

During that time, Hasanovic launched her own skincare brand, NRD55, and featured in a Cartier photoshoot for Elle, while Sinner claimed the Sunshine Double. The Italian star became the first man to win the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open without dropping a set. His triumph at the events ensured that he closed the gap between him and his arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz.

Sinner has ensured that his relationship with Hasanovic remains private. He had dated Anna Kalinskaya for a few months on tour and the relationship was reported to have ended badly. His romantic relationship with Hasanovic points to the fact that he wanted someone outside of the sport after the split with Kalinskaya.

At the Monte Carlo, Sinner made a short appearance at one event and after signing autographs for fans, took pictures and spent time with them. After that, he left the venue with Hasanovic. The 24-year-old wore a black jacket with a simple T-shirt and off white trouser. He and Hasanovic entered a car after greeting fans.

Hasanovic was first spotted with Sinner at the French Open after she sat in his box during the tournament last year. Also, Sinner’s phone lock screen has a picture. It was last October that the Italian star confirmed his relationship with the Danish model following months of deflected questions from the media.

Sinner will now turn his focus to the court as he has the opportunity of becoming the World No.1 after the Monte Carlo Masters. The Wimbledon champion just has to win the tournament and even though Alcaraz reaches the final, he will become the No.1 in the ATP rankings. However, he has reached the semi-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters only once in his career.

Jannik Sinner reveals his clay court preparation strategy ahead of Monte Carlo

Jannik Sinner was expected to rest after winning the Sunshine Double rather than play at the Monte Carlo Masters. But the 24-year-old made the decision to kick off his clay-court season at the Monte Carlo Masters, which gives him limited time to smoothly transition from hard court to clay.

However, Sinner believes that’s not a course to worry about. He practiced with Stefanos Tsitsipas ahead of the start of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament and it was reported that he defeated the Greek star 6-0, 6-1. During his press conference, he opened up on his training preparations at the Monte Carlo Masters:

The pace is different, the spin is different when you play on clay. So, you don’t aim always for a you try to structure your point with early point with earlier shots. And it is different, but we have been working not only the last couple of months but already for years now trying to find the best possible movement for myself. Yeah, I believe last year was a great clay season. I also had loads of time to prepare because of certain scenarios I had…

Sinner could face either Stefanos Tsitsipas or Francisco Cerundolo early in the Monte Carlo Masters. In the later stages of the tournament, he could also meet Casper Ruud or Felix Auger-Aliassime, who are known to play good tennis on clay. Sinner has a 71 percent winning rate on the red dirt.
