In the days leading up to Roland Garros, the focus was on Jannik Sinner‘s hip injury, which caused him to miss the Italian Open, and his potential to become the next World No. 1. However, the narrative has shifted as the Italian confirmed his relationship with Russian star Anna Kalinskaya.
Since he arrived in Paris for the French Open, the 22-year-old has been spotted on several occasions with Kalinskaya. Nevertheless, both seem to be enjoying a blooming relationship despite their different on-court circumstances. Sinner has been enjoying a good run of form this season but Kalinskaya’s only moment of triumph was at the Dubai Tennis Championship in February.

Meanwhile, life at the Roland Garros seems to be going smoothly for the new tennis couple. Sinner recorded his first win at the French Open this season beating American Chris Eubanks in three sets. On the other hand, Anna Kalinskaya fought hard to beat Strasbourg Open quarterfinalist Clara Burel 7-6, 7-5 to reach the second round of the Roland Garros.

Sinner was also spotted wearing a hood in the Kalinskaya match against Burel after earlier defeating Burel. When asked about their relationship by reporters at the French Open, the 22-year-old revealed he loved his private life but confirmed he was dating Kalinskaya.
I don’t like to talk about my private life much, but yes, Anna and I are dating. But we keep everything very confidential. You know me: I won't talk more than that.Jannik Sinner said (H/T: ubitennis)
Sinner was earlier romantically linked with Italian model Maria Braccini in 2020, but it is rumored that they split early this year. Also, Kalinskaya had a brief relationship with Nick Kyrgios in 2019 and 2020. The Russian confirmed their break-up in an Instagram Live, admitting they were no longer friends.
Jannik Sinner admits he is not 100% in great shape despite winning his first-round match at the Roland Garros
Jannik Sinner won his first match after a three-week sideline due to a hip injury he suffered in April. The Italian defeated Chris Eubanks 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 to earn a place in the second round of the French Open.

However, after the win, he revealed he was happy to compete again but added that he is not 100% in great shape, despite having no hip problem.
The hip is good. I’m very happy. I’m glad that my team and myself worked very hard to be on court as soon as possible. Obviously without my team, it is not possible. For sure, my general shape is not at 100 per cent yet, so we try to build every day.Jannik Sinner said post his first round match
The Italian will face French favorite Richard Gasquet in the second round of the Roland Garros. He now has an improved record of 29-2 this season.
