The 2024 Rolex Monte Carlo had its fair share of player incidents. Either with the fans or with the umpires, the players have surely turned up the heat in Monaco. While many would have problems with that, Jannik Sinner dismissed the recent incident during his match.
After Novak Djokovic‘s conflict with the fans and Daniil Medvedev’s heated exchange with the umpire, Holger Rune‘s mix of both in his recent incident got the most limelight. During his quarter-final match against Sinner, the Dane exceeded the time limit for his serve and had a little fallout with the crowd.

He signaled for them to be quiet and received his second warning for the match. In quick succession, the Dane got a time warning and a warning for his unsportsmanlike behavior. Usually, the opponent would have a lot of issues as their match was halted, however, Jannik Sinner was different. He had no issues with this and found nothing wrong with Rune arguing.
There is nothing wrong with all of this. You can make a little bit of chaos. I've learned from last year a little bit. It's all part of the learning processJannik Sinner said of the incident in a post match interview
Jannik Sinner responds to umpiring errors during his semi-final loss against Stefanos Tsitsipas
World No. 2 Jannik Sinner has been on a winning run this year. Having entered the final in every tournament he has faced so far, Sinner was a favorite at the Monte Carlo as well. However, the Italian faced a major hiccup in the semi-finals.

Sinner lost to the in-form Stefanos Tsitsipas in a thriller match. This was his second loss of the year. However, the story would have been different if it had not been for the crucial umpiring error. In the last set, the Italian took an early break to be up 3-1. He would have been 4-1 on Tsitsipas’ next serve, but the umpire’s wrong call flipped the script.
When the Greek had served to stay in the game, he missed his first serve and reloaded, only to miss a second one. Even Hawkeye showed that the ball went out but wasn’t called by the umpire, allowing Tsitsipas to come back and eventually win the game.
Speaking at his post-match conference, Sinner addressed the incident but did not base his loss on it. He agreed to his mistakes while not blaming the umpire for the error.
It happened. You know, you cannot do nothing anymore. It's already the past. I mean, it's tough to accept this, yes.Said Sinner
He stated that everyone could make a mistake, including himself. Nonetheless, he still has a good record in 2024 and would hope to do better next time.
