Jannik Sinner feels Carlos Alcaraz‘s game is similar to that of Rafael Nadal. The Italian ace, while analyzing his rival’s gameplay, claimed that Alcaraz, like Nadal, is aggressive right from the start. The World No.1 player made the comments ahead of his Paris Masters campaign.
Earlier, Sinner talked about the difference between him and Alcaraz. Delving deep into the comparison, Sinner talked about the Spaniard’s ability to get the crowd involved in the match with his aggressive gameplay. He then claimed that while he is usually calm, he can also get aggressive when needed.
Before jumping to the comparison with Nadal, Sinner also talked about the difference between the top two players on the tour currently. He claimed that there are a lot of differences in the way he and Alcaraz operate.
Jannik Sinner on how things can change quickly on men’s tour
With two of the Big Three players retired (Rafael Nadal will play his last match at the Davis Cup Finals) and Novak Djokovic not competing in every tournament, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are the two biggest names on the men’s tour currently. The duo is being touted to take over the reins from Big Three.
However, Sinner feels that while he and Alcaraz are at the top right now, things can change quickly. The Italian ace feels that there are a few upcoming players who can challenge the World No.1 and World No. 2.
The Italian feels Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev are the two players who are not easy to defeat. And with these challenges in mind, Sinner wants to keep working on himself. For now, the 23-year-old is focused on setting his record straight at the Paris Masters.
In three previous appearances, Sinner has won just one match. In 2021 he was eliminated by Alcaraz, in 2022 he fell to Marc-Andrea Huesler, and last year he withdrew after a maiden victory against Mackenzie McDonald.
