Jannik Sinner recently achieved a historic feat by completing the Career Golden Masters at the Italian Open in Rome, becoming the second man after Novak Djokovic to win all nine ATP 1000 titles. He recently shared a glimpse of the celebration that followed the victory, including a heartfelt moment with his parents.
Sinner had not won a clay-court ATP Masters 1000 title before the season. He has been known for dominating the hard court swings, but the red dirt had always been the most difficult surface. But in April, he finally broke the curse by beating his arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz to win the Monte Carlo Masters.
He improved further in his game in the following tournament in Madrid, winning the title after beating Alexander Zverev in just 56 minutes in the final. The 24-year-old had fought hard in the past to win the Italian Open, but then had failed every time, including in 2025, when he finished as runner-up.
But for the first time in Sinner’s career, he claimed the title after beating Casper Ruud 6-4, 6-4 at the Foro Italico. After the triumph, he headed off to celebrate the triumph with his parents, his brother Mark Sinner, and his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic. His coaching team, who cheered him throughout the competition.
In a behind-the-scenes video posted on his YouTube channel, Sinner was seen embracing his mother, Siglinde, and his father, Hanspeter, before making a speech. During the speech, he acknowledged the pressure surrounding his campaign and the immense encouragement he received from his family and friends to finally win the championship:
Back in 2019, first time I played here. We won one match there and I would never have thought I could ever be in the position where I am. 7 years later, in this place, we achieved the Golden Masters, winning all nine. But without you, this would not be possible, so thank you to be part of this. Now I’m happy to enjoy a couple of days because then there is another really important tournament for us coming up but in any case how that goes, it has been a hell of a year until now.

Sinner will hope for more title celebrations this season and can do that in a few days from now by winning the French Open. The Italian star has been the best men’s player this season, unbeatable and untouchable by any player in the circuit since March. The last time he lost a singles tie on tour was at the Doha Open in February.
Jannik Sinner hopes to get the better of his opponents at the French Open
Jannik Sinner enters the French Open having won 51 of his last 53 matches on tour. The Italian star has dropped just three sets in the last three months and has been the best player in the ATP landscape by a mile. However, the Roland Garros challenge is open to him, and he has to show the same level of display he produced in the previous five events.

The Grand Slam tournament is a different landscape from other events, with best-of-five sets on the men’s circuit and a minimum of three sets. He has played more matches than any player in the top 50 since April, which means he has had little time to rest. During his press conference at the Roland Garros, he admitted that he would rather feel tired after winning than after a loss:
It’s always better to feel tired after winning a lot than to feel physically perfect and lose early. Best-of-five-set matches are different. You have more time to understand how to beat a player, and even if you start badly, you can always find a solution. I’m sure I have some very tough matches ahead.
Sinner is the top seed at the French Open, and with Carlos Alcaraz absent due to injury, he has the opportunity to win the Grand Slam tournament. His best run in Paris came last year when he reached the final and lost to Alcaraz in five sets, which lasted for five hours and 29 minutes at the Court Philippe-Chatrier.
