Jannik Sinner reached the final after two hard-earned wins over Andrey Rublev and Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinal and semifinal, respectively. Although he had the head-to-head record against Tiafoe tilted in his favor, Sinner had his opponent’s form in mind.
The two players fought hard in the opening set, with it being decided in the tiebreak. Sinner, despite his persistent hip issue, produced high-quality tennis to win the first set. He continued the momentum in the second and clinched it with ease.
