World No.2 Jannik Sinner has never hidden his motivation to improve as a tennis player. One of the things he has been really focused on in the past few weeks is his serve.
The Italian was quite critical of his serve during the US Open, where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the final. However, he said it in his press conference (reported by Punto de Break) that the new serve still needs a lot of work to become perfect.
There’s no secret, just practice and train a lot. Sometimes you have to be brave, that’s also true, so I’m still trying to understand how to apply these changes, the new rhythms. You have to improve, you have to change things. I’m happy with how I served today. It’s definitely a shot I’m not yet comfortable with, or very confident with, but I feel like I’m getting a little better every day. Today, for example, I hit great percentages.
Sinner’s serve percentages were extremely low during the US Open. His flaws were truly exposed during the semifinals against Felix Auger-Aliassime, where his first serve percentage went below 50%. However, a better quality player in Alcaraz took advantage of it in the final.
Outside of that, Sinner has been the best player of 2025 alongside Alcaraz. The duo have won the last 8 Grand Slam titles and also played the last 3 Grand Slam finals.
Jannik Sinner reveals his hilarious online exchange with Alexander Bublik
Jannik Sinner revealed that he congratulated Alexander Bublik on having his career-best season. However, the Kazakh did come up with a hilarious response.

Well, I simply congratulated him on a great season, surely the best of his entire career. He responded with a confirmation, telling me it was true, but that he could have done even better if we hadn’t played each other so many times (laughs). In the end, we know each other well, even off the court and in tournaments. I can only wish him the best for the future. I think his mentality has changed a lot lately, he’s working much harder than before, hence the good results that reflect his progress.
Sinner and Bublik have played each other four times during the 2025 season, with the Italian having a 3-1 advantage. Bublik is one of the few players to defeat the former World No.1 this year, triumphing over him in the Halle Open Round of 16 on his way to winning the title in Germany.
Bublik has enjoyed a fantastic season, winning five tour-level titles (which includes one in the Challenger Circuit). Plus, he reached the Roland Garros quarterfinals, where he lost to Sinner in straight sets.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner learn their first-round opponents in Paris
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner learned their possible routes to the Paris Masters trophy. Both are chasing their first title at this event. Alcaraz is back after a short break and will face Cameron Norrie or Sebastian Baez first.

Sinner is still playing in Vienna and will open in Paris against Alex Michelsen or Zizou Bergs. The event could influence the race for the final spots at the ATP Finals in Turin. Only a few places remain.
Several exciting matchups are possible. Felix Auger-Aliassime might face Casper Ruud early. Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, and Lorenzo Musetti are all fighting to qualify for Turin as well.
This is the first year the tournament is held at La Défense Arena. Matches run from 27 October to 2 November. Fans are hoping Alcaraz and Sinner will create another thrilling showdown after their recent matchup at the Six Kings Slam.
