Jannik Sinner shared a positive fitness update after lifting the Vienna Open trophy. During the final against Alexander Zverev, cameras caught him grabbing at the back of his leg, raising concerns about his hamstring. Sinner explained that it tightened a little late in the match. He said that the situation is improving and nothing too serious.

The Italian star feels encouraged ahead of the Paris Masters. He has taken time to recover and believes his body will hold up well in the final stretch of the season. Sinner is eager to start strong in Paris and continue challenging at the top of the rankings. Sinner said in his post-match press conference:

What happened to me in Vienna isn’t the same as what happened in Shanghai. In Vienna, I had played five days in a row. The final was very physical. These things can happen. I feel good physically now. A little tired, of course, because I’ve played five matches in a row and I’m arriving here without much recovery time. I’m happy to see how I’m recovering. I’m getting better every day. Tomorrow is my first match, and I’m very focused on playing my best tennis. I’m not worried about my physique. I feel good both physically and tennis-wise. I hope to have a good start to the tournament.

His physical resilience has been tested in recent months. At the Cincinnati Open final, he was hit by a sudden virus and was forced to retire after only a few games. That sickness left doubts heading into the US Open.

Sinner still pushed deep in New York, reaching the final, although fatigue showed during his battle with Felix Auger-Aliassime. Then came one of his toughest setbacks, a hamstring injury in Shanghai while facing Tallon Griekspoor. Each flare-up has made this latest good news even more reassuring for his fans.

Paris Masters sees 7 withdrawals amid scheduling and injury crisis

The 2025 season reaches its final Masters event in Paris, now hosted at La Défense Arena in Nanterre instead of the longtime venue in Bercy. Excitement is high for the new setting, although the tournament has already taken a hit. Several former champions and major stars have been forced to withdraw before play begins.

Novak Djokovic is the most notable absence. He sat out Paris last year as well and has not played a full ATP match since winning the title in 2023. After retiring from his third-place match at the Six Kings Slam, he said he needed time to recover physically.

The plan is to return for Athens and then possibly the ATP Finals. Holger Rune is also missing after suffering a serious Achilles tendon injury in Stockholm, which required surgery and will keep him off the tour for months.

Jack Draper has ended his season early due to bone bruising in his left arm. The British No.1 attempted a comeback at the US Open but shut things down again. He plans to appear at UTS London before resuming on the ATP Tour next year. Tommy Paul has dealt with injuries since the French Open, followed by a tendon rupture at Wimbledon. Although he returned briefly in the summer, he has not played since the US Open.

Frances Tiafoe ended a frustrating year by splitting with key members of his team and opting to rest. Arthur Fils has battled a recurring back issue and played only two singles matches since June. Stefanos Tsitsipas continues to struggle with back trouble too, having pulled out of multiple events after a brief appearance at the Six Kings Slam. All three will miss Paris, adding to an already long withdrawal list for the final Masters stop of the season.

Who is Jannik Sinner’s girlfriend?

World No.2 Jannik Sinner has finally put an end to the mystery surrounding his relationship status. During his Vienna Open title ceremony, he thanked “my family, my girlfriend, my friends,” confirming he is officially off the market. The Italian star had been linked with a few different public figures lately, which only fueled curiosity about who he was really dating.

The woman by his side is model and influencer Laila Hasanovic, who was cheering him on in the Vienna final. Hasanovic, 24, is from Denmark with Bosnian-Herzegovinian roots and began her modeling career as a teenager. She became well-known in 2019 when she reached the top 10 of the Miss Denmark competition.

Hasanovic previously dated Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher, frequently appearing in the paddock during races. Their relationship faded earlier in 2025 after Mick removed all couple photos from social media. Around the same time, rumors emerged that Hasanovic and Sinner were spending more time together, especially once they were seen around Sinner’s place in Monte Carlo.

There was even a moment when she had to shut down whispers of a romance with fellow Dane Holger Rune after they sat near each other at a match. Now the speculation is over. Sinner has acknowledged the relationship publicly for the first time, and the couple continues to quietly share glimpses of their connection, including a few subtle Instagram likes.
