Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are touted as the two next big things in men’s tennis and they are proving it every time they meet on the court. The two players played against each other in the Six Kings Slam final on Saturday and produced another epic encounter.
With their rivalry flourishing, the two players are constantly thinking about ways to defeat each other. Sinner, after losing to Alcaraz in the China Open final, had confessed that he wakes up thinking about the ways to beat his nemesis.
The Italian reiterated the claim after his win over the Spaniard in the Six Kings Slam final. However, Sinner got entangled in his own words as the interviewer pulled his leg. When asked if he woke up every morning thinking about his opponent, Sinner paused before explaining himself.

Jannik: “I wake up in the morning trying to understand the ways to beat him.”
“Did you just tell us every day you wake up and think about him?”

The Italian defeated Alcaraz 6(5)-7, 6-3, 6-3 and broke his three-match losing streak against the Spaniard. Although their head-to-head score does not change (as it was an exhibition event), Sinner would be happy to have one match go in his favor.
Jannik Sinner hopes for a long rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz
Although it is in its initial phase, the rivalry between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner is flourishing, and the Italian hopes that it will last long. On a day when the 18-year-old rivalry between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic ended, Sinner is hopeful of creating something similar with Alcaraz.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz also promised to “do everything so that this rivalry gets better and better”. The two players split the four Grand Slam titles among themselves with Alcaraz clinching the titles at Roland Garros and Wimbledon and Sinner winning the two hard-court Grand Slam titles.
