Jannik Sinner has already ended his 2026 season, all due to a knee injury. The last time he played a match was in the final of Wimbledon. He defeated Alexander Zverev and defended his title.

Although he has ended his season, he is the one who lifted the most titles this season, having clinched six of them. Before Wimbledon, he took home the first five Masters 1000 of the season, becoming the first man in history to do so.

While his fellow top players are competing in the final few tournaments of the season, Sinner reportedly is making changes to his coaching team. It has now come to light that the five-time Grand Slam champion has hired Magnus Norman.

As per The Times, Sinner will part ways with Darren Cahill at the end of the 2026 season. There was already uncertainty around Cahill because he wanted to retire from coaching following the 2025 season. But he decided to stay in Sinner’s team at least for this season.

Norman is a former World No.2 player who reached the 2000 French Open final, losing to Gustavo Kuerten. After calling time on his career in 2004, Norman became a coach and joined Thomas Johansson‘s team in 2008. Following their split, he became a part of Robin Soderling‘s team, before becoming a part of Stan Wawrinka‘s team in 2013.

He guided the Swiss veteran to three Grand Slam titles. Wawrinka will retire at the end of this season, which is why Norman will be free to join Sinner’s team.

Cahill and Sinner’s other coach, Simone Vagnozzi, joined his entourage in 2022. Under them, Sinner won 17 Big Titles, five of which were Grand Slam titles. He also reached the No.1 ranking for the first time in 2024 under their guidance. Sinner will lose his No.1 ranking to Zverev.

Jannik Sinner on his rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz

The tennis world, without any doubt, is eagerly waiting to see Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz‘s names in the same draw. They saw the two arch-rivals compete only once this season, in the final of the Monte-Carlo Masters, which Sinner won.

Alcaraz injured his wrist in Barcelona and skipped the French Open and Wimbledon. He returned to action at the US Open, which Sinner skipped due to his knee injury. Sinner, during his interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, talked about his rivalry with the Spaniard, comparing them to the rivalry of Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe and to that of Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi.

We’re not all the same; contrasts excite. Maybe I’m seen as the disciplined and stubborn champion, and Carlos as the Mediterranean and eccentric one. That’s the beautiful thing, having someone who pushes you to the limit. And tennis has always lived on this: from Borg-McEnroe to Sampras-Agassi, until the rivalry became a three-way one with [Roger] Federer, [Rafael] Nadal, [Novak] Djokovic.

Sinner kept himself busy during the summer with various activities outside of tennis, like attending Formula 1, to avoid boredom. He has now revealed how he is planning to spend his days in the winter.

The purity of a winter Sunday with my friends skiing in the Dolomites. The feeling of a beautiful day doing something you enjoy. I’d also add any time with my family or some time karting with [Antonio] Giovinazzi and [Giulio] Ciccone. I like speed, it’s no secret. I need the adrenaline to keep boredom at bay.
