Jannik Sinner had high praise for the recent epic clash between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. It was the final match at the 2024 Paris Olympics where both players fought for the gold medal.
Sinner had pulled out of the Olympics due to an illness and witnessed some of the epic moments of the tournament from the sidelines. One of them was the thriller between Djokovic and Alcaraz. It was a clash for the ages as the Serbian took the fight to the Spaniard and beat him to the win.
Despite not having won any tournament all season, Novak Djokovic fought extremely hard to go all the way to the final of the Olympics and then beat an opponent who beat him comfortably at Wimbledon. It was a hard-earned 7-6(3),7-6(2) victory for the 37-year-old and with it he secured his maiden gold.
Sinner recently spoke about the final and hailed it as a high-level match. He opined that the two best players in the world produced an exceptional contest for everyone watching.

Jannik Sinner returns to tennis and leads the draw at the Canadian Open
After a thrilling week at the Paris Olympics, the tennis tour is set to resume on the hard courts. This is the season’s final quarter, and players gear on for the tournaments heading up to the US Open. One of the first Masters tournaments in this leg is the Canadian Open.
Jannik Sinner will return from his illness and lead the draw at the Masters 1000 event. He is the top seed and will be joined by Alexander Zverev as the second seed. With a bye in the first round, Sinner will take to the court in the Round of 32.
Having won the first few tournaments of the year, Sinner lost a bit of the momentum and would hope to find it again in the American hard court swing. Additionally, he is taking part in the men’s doubles at the Masters 1000 event, partnering Jack Draper.
