- Jannik Sinner launched his YouTube channel in 2025 to share more about his life off the court.
- He aims to connect with fans by showcasing his training and personal interests through vlogs.
- Sinner is currently competing at the Indian Wells Open, focusing on improving his game rather than ranking points.
Jannik Sinner will be back on the court at the Indian Wells Open for the first time since the Qatar Open. The World No.2 is yet to win a title this season and will hope that things change in the California desert. But he’s also looking to give his fans and supporters something beyond tennis and has opened up on why he created his YouTube channel.
The 24-year-old launched his YouTube channel in 2025, just hours after beating Alexander Zverev in straight sets to win the Australian Open in Melbourne. The former World No.1 posted a video, which offered fans behind-the-scenes footage of his journey to victory at the first Grand Slam of the season.
The 8-minute video opened with the Italian star reflecting on his fourth-round victory over the Danish star Holger Rune, a match in which he struggled with health issues midway through. It also had clips of him training with his team and signing autographs for fans after each match win. It highlighted the efforts he put in to win the championship.
Since then, Sinner has posted six more videos on his YouTube channel. One of them was about how he won the 2025 Wimbledon Championship. He entered the tournament heartbroken after losing to his arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz in five sets at the French Open final, but bounced back in style to beat him at the All England Club.
Sinner is currently in Indian Wells, where he’s chasing his sixth ATP Masters 1000 title and first in Tennis Paradise. During his press conference at the tournament, he revealed that the reason he opened his YouTube channel was to give fans more about himself, something different from what they see on the court:
I feel like fans, they don’t know exactly how we are as a person, so [vlogs] helps also to show how I am off the courts. I think it’s something great. Me personally, I love to watch also other YouTube videos from other sports people, and it’s of course something different: maybe about how we train or what our favorite hobbies are. Me personally, I love to watch also other YouTube videos from other sports people, and it’s of course something different.
The last video Sinner posted on his YouTube channel was about his time at the Australian Open in January. The 24-year-old was seeking to win the championship for the third consecutive time in his career, but he fell short in the semi-finals when he lost to Novak Djokovic in five sets after over four hours at the Rod Laver Arena.
Jannik Sinner focused on improving his game at the Indian Wells Open
Jannik Sinner is coming into the Indian Wells Open with no points to defend, which eases the pressure on him. He didn’t play in the tournament last year because he was serving a three-month suspension for doping. He currently trails World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz by 2,800 ranking points. Should he win the title and the Spaniard crashes out early, he will reduce the gap.

However, Sinner is more focused on improving his game than on accumulating ranking points. After losing to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open and to Jakub Mensik at the Doha Open, he believes he’s far from his best. Speaking during the aforementioned press conference, he noted that he practiced hard before traveling for the event:
I think we are always trying to progress with our games. I feel like we are doing a great job. It has been a very hard practice week here for me. We spent many, many hours of practice. [I am] very happy with how I’m feeling on the court, and obviously we try to go as far as possible in the tournament.
Sinner will kick off his campaign at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament against James Duckworth or a qualifier in the second round. Should he reach the semi-finals, he could face Djokovic, while he’s projected to take on Alcaraz in the final. Sinner has never won the Indian Wells Open.
