As Jannik Sinner dominates on tour, his doping case continues to unfold with new developments. After getting a clearance from the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) for the two failed doping tests, Sinner was troubled by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) challenging the verdict which claimed that the player bore no fault on negligence in the doping scandal.

The case will be taken up by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS). But before that, another twist has interested everyone. Giacomo Naldi, Sinner’s ex-physiotherapist, who was held responsible for contaminating the Italian’s body with the banned drug, has claimed that it is not all his fault as being interpreted by the general public.

In an interview with La Stampa, Naldi opened up about the doping case and how everything has panned out. The Italian has said that he would explain everything if the case was over, but since it is not, he cannot say anything now. However, Naldi made it clear that it was not all his fault as being portrayed.

I am sorry like everyone else, but I can’t say anything else because unfortunately, it’s not over yet. I hope, sooner or later, to be able to tell what happened to give a general picture. Because, from how this story has been interpreted by the general public, it seems that it was only my fault. But that’s not the case, as anyone who has read the sentence knows.

Giacomo Naldi said about Jannik Sinner doping scandal.

Naldi iterated that since everyone has not read the ruling by the ITIA, they do not know what exactly happened. The renowned physiotherapist lost his job due to the doping scandal. However, that hasn’t changed the personal bond he shares with Sinner.

Giacomo Naldi reveals everything is fine between him and Jannik Sinner

In the immediate aftermath of the Jannik Sinner doping scandal, Giacomo Naldi was fired from his job because it was found out that the player got contaminated with the banned substance due to Naldi using a spray on his cut and then massaging Sinner with bare hands. This episode turned Naldi into a villain.

However, as he reveals, while his professional relationship with Sinner ended abruptly, the personal bond they shared was not affected a lot. Naldi highlighted that Sinner and his team wrote to him when his child was born.

He was very kind: when Letizia was born, he wrote to me. Like the whole team. I have a cordial relationship with Jannik. In general, I have received demonstrations of affection especially from those who know me personally.

The Italian further talked about the negative effects of the doping episode. Naldi threw light on while his close ones showed affection and love in tough times, the social media users did not spare him and came up with “nasty messages”. But he does not blame them, but instead, the way in which his role in the case was portrayed.
