Jasmine Paolini was in the stands when Jannik Sinner played his first group-stage match at the ATP Finals in Turin. He locked horns with seventh seed Alex de Minaur on Sunday (November 10).
The World No. 4 came to Turin following her WTA Finals exit. She won her first match against Elena Rybakina but was defeated in her next two matches she played against Aryna Sabalenka and Qinwen Zheng.
Paolini, who will fly to Malaga next for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, lauded Sinner for his achievements and brushed aside the comparison between her and the 23-year-old. Paolini is yet to win a Grand Slam tournament, reaching the major final for the first time this season at the French Open, followed by another Grand Slam final appearance at Wimbledon.

Jasmine Paolini predicts Jannik Sinner will play ATP Finals semifinals
Jannik Sinner along with Carlos Alcaraz are considered the favorites to win the tournament. Jasmine Paolini hoped for a semifinal clash between Alcaraz and Sinner, who are in the John Newcombe Group and the Ilie Nastase Group respectively.
While Sinner defeated Alex de Minaur, Alcaraz will be playing his first match on November 11. He will be up against Casper Ruud, against whom he leads 4-0 in their head-to-head encounter. Sinner’s next opponent is Fritz.
Sinner reached his first ATP Finals decider last year and lost to Novak Djokovic. Four-time Grand Slam champion Alcaraz is yet to progress to the summit clash, as he lost to Djokovic in the semifinals last year.
