“Turned into f**king Michael Jordan!” Jaylen Brown BAFFLED by Indiana Pacers offense in 1st half in ECF Game 3

Jaylen Brown admits he and his Boston Celtics teammates were baffled by the Michael Jordan esq performance from Indiana Pacers in 1st half

As Game 3 approached, everyone from the fans to the Boston Celtics themselves expected it to be an easy outing. Especially since Tyrese Haliburton was not going to suit up, leaving the Indiana Pacers shorthanded at the most crucial position on their squad.

But the young Pacers blitzed in the first half, with Jaylen Brown and his teammates were baffled on how the Pacers managed to build a double-digit lead in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. He echoed that sentiment when asked about it in the locker room.

You had to be out there to kinda feel it. Mane they were just flying around. Some of those guys turned into f**king Michael Jordan or whatever. And we were like what is going on. We couldn't figure out.
Jaylen Brown said

The basketball world was stunned watching the Indiana Pacers take a double-digit lead up until 6 minutes were left in the third quarter. But Jaylen Brown suggesting that his Celtics were equally stunned gave a fitting reply to what actually transpired on the court.

Without Haliburton on the floor, Andrew Nembhard took the onus of directing play. He scored a game high 32 points while also dishing out 9 assists. No wonder Brown referenced to Nembhard’s scoring streak being akin to a certain Michael Jordan. Nembhard’s teammates also chimed in, outscoring the Celtics 38-25 in the second quarter to give the belief that they could win the game.

Except, the Boston Celtics were the best team in the league due to their offensive and defensive efficiency. They unleashed both those traits to rally back from the deficit and eventually won the game. They head into Game 4 with a 3-0 lead.

Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics could finish the series early and rest ahead of NBA Finals

The Boston Celtics have had the easiest postseason run of the entire playoffs. In both the 1st and 2nd round of the playoffs, they faced teams which missed their lead superstars. The Miami Heat were without Jimmy Butler and a couple of key players and the Cleveland Cavaliers missed Donovan Mitchell in games 3 & 4. They find themselves in a similar situation in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The injury to Tyrese Haliburton is a big blow to the Pacers. Without his clutch game, the Indiana Pacers do not stand a chance. Moreover, they are also battling fatigue playing three games more than the unanimous title favorites. If Jaylen Brown and his teammates can close the series by Game 4 or max by 5, they could potentially get some much-needed rest before the NBA Finals.

Something they will need as the Western Conference contenders will be their toughest matchup so far. They will need all the preparation to take on whoever comes out of the West.
