Reggie Miller loses his mind on Draymond Green calling Steph Curry and Klay Thompson ‘the best backcourt ever’, Charles Barkley barges in the conversation with a HOT one-liner
Draymond Green will naturally support his teammates' case but knows this playoff series could tilt the conversation.
Reggie Miller loses his mind as Draymond Green suggests Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are the best backcourt duo in the NBA
Before Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, the crew of Inside the TNT were previewing the game. In that discussion, Draymond Green suggested that Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are the best backcourt ever. Hall of Famer and TNT commentator Reggie Miller lost his mind hearing this.
The conversation unfolded when Draymond Green said that even Miller’s partner in commenting Stan Van Gundy, feels Curry and Thompson are the best backcourt ever. Animated Miller gave his reply.
He didn't say best ever. Are you saying Klay you just throw the ball say, on the level of Kyrie and on the level of Luka?Reggie Miller said
Charles Barkley then doubled down on Green’s input.
Yes he did. We got the tape.Charles Barkley said
To this, Shaquille O’Neal chimed in that Green was right. As those two can make opponents pay for not guarding them properly. The 4 NBA championships are proof that the duo work wonders when playing together.
Reggie Miller, on the other hand, suggested that Klay Thompson cannot create his own shot. Whereas Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic can do that at will. Their performances have led the team to consistently beat playoff teams so far.
But Green then countered by suggesting that Thompson can make his own shot. It’s just that he generally does not need to. Then Kenny Smith joined in the conversation, which took the entire heat off this conversation in a split second.
Draymond Green and Charles Barkley shut down Kenny Smith
As this conversation continued, Kenny Smith, who was quiet all this while, suggested that Reggie Miller and Stan Van Gundy might be right. Green remarked that Smith was trying to align himself with someone else. Charles Barkley added by questioning if Smith was referring to himself and Sam Cassell. Smith responded affirmatively, saying that he and Cassell could handle it.
To this, Barkley just continuously shook his head in disagreement. It goes to show the banter between the crew wherein they do not hesitate to take shots at each other.
The rest of the segment they closed out by hilariously continuing to take Smith’s case. While also reiterating that Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are a better backcourt duo than Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.
If the Dallas Mavericks can close out the Western Conference Finals and move to the NBA Finals, this discussion might continue. An NBA title win could potentially tilt the discussion in the favor of the Mavericks duo.
