The Boston Celtics won a thrilling 133-128 overtime game against the Indiana Pacers in game 1 of their Eastern Conference Finals and defended their home court. However, a moment occurred after the game involved Jaylen Brown’s comment. 

In a post-game interview, Jaylen Brown said, Jayson Tatum had finally woken up, as he referred to Tatum’s contributions to the win. The comment has however raised eyebrows among NBA followers, as it came across as a questionable remark about his teammate.

Furthermore, despite struggling early in the game, Tatum had a double-double with 36 points and 12 rebounds, his highest score in the playoffs this season, and led the team to victory. Brown’s comment was meant to highlight Tatum’s impact, but its tone has sparked debate.

The incident has raised eyebrows early among fans on social media, however, it’s also possible that Brown’s comment was just a lighthearted joke that was misinterpreted. Either way, the Celtics will look to put the drama behind them and focus on the series against the Pacers.

Jaylen Brown credits Jrue Holiday for Celtics’ win

Jrue Holiday starred in the Celtics’ thrilling overtime win over the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. He had a season-high 28 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and three steals, leading the team to victory.

Teammate Jaylen Brown credited Holiday with being the reason they won. Holiday’s defense of Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton in overtime was particularly impressive.

Holiday’s performance was also praised by Haliburton himself, who called him the “best defender in the NBA”. Holiday’s ability to score, pass, and defend at an elite level has made him a vital asset for the Celtics. He’ll look to duplicate his performance in Game 2 on Thursday night at TD Garden.
