“Adam Silver wants finals to happen ASAP” – Jaylen Brown is going VIRAL for wrong reasons despite winning ECF MVP

Jaylen Brown faces backlash from netizens despite winning the ECF MVP.

After coming extremely close last year, the Boston Celtics, just like their regular season record did not leave a chance for their opponents to advance for the NBA finals. The Celtics have won the Eastern Conference finals with a sweep over the Indiana Pacers. However, their last-minute win was not applauded by many due to their ECF MVP Jaylen Brown.

After trailing for a significant amount of time, the Boston Celtics made a huge comeback in the last quarter to win the game. With more than half of the quarter left, Jaylen Brown smacked TJ McConnell in the face which made the guard fall hard on the floor. The guard was injured as he stayed on the floor for some time while holding his head.

Upon review, a flagrant foul was not called on Brown which did not sit well with the viewers of the game. At the time, the Indiana Pacers were leading by six points but started losing their grip over the basketball. Then the Celtics started to go on a run and outscored the Pacers 14-8 to close out the game.

After the win, Brown was on cloud nine as the star unexpectedly won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP. But the Pacers fans were not happy with the no-call that changed the trajectory of the game. The team had to lose on their home court to end their season.

Fans were furious for the no-call against Jaylen Brown

Coming in an elimination game, the Pacers were missing their star player Tyrese Haliburton. In his absence, the other players of the team including the non-starters stepped up to give their everything on the court. McConnell played a huge role for the Pacers as he scored the first six points of the fourth quarter which created a space between the scores.

Hence, despite winning the series’ MVP fans were furious at Brown. NBA followers took to social media to protest the non-flagrant foul on the Celtics guard. Here’s what fans from X had to say:

With a clean sweep, the Celtics are now headed to the NBA finals for the second time in the last three years. The team lost the series in 2022 against the Golden State Warriors. Hence, Boston will certainly try to redeem themselves this time with their new ECF MVP. Game 1 will be held on Thursday against the winner between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves.
