Jazz Chisholm Jr. once again found himself beefing with the Cleveland Guardians. On Tuesday, he silenced the home crowd at Progressive Field with a massive go-ahead home run after the fans threw in “overrated” chants at him. After the game, the infielder again clapped back at them.

The hostility between him and the American League Central team sparked up last week following Chisholm Jr.’s appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” On the New York Yankees’ day off, the 2-time MLB All-Star went on the show to promote his charity.

During this, show host Jimmy Fallon asked what the ultimate goal of the Yankees this year was. Chisholm Jr. confidently claimed that the aim was to win the World Series.

A day later, during the series opener against the Guardians at Yankee Stadium, Tom Hamilton took a dig at him. The Guardians’ broadcaster brought up Chisholm Jr.’s batting average and his appearance on the Jimmy Fallon-hosted show.

Chisholm Jr. did clap back at Hamilton and those who trolled him for claiming to win the World Series with the Yankees.

The Yankees ended up losing that series against the Guardians. After the weekend series against the Boston Red Sox, the Bronx Bombers traveled to Cleveland to take on the AL Central division leaders in another 3-game series.

In the middle of the game, the Guardians fans started chanting “overrated” and trolled the Yankees star. He, though, had the last laugh as he crushed a towering home run in the top of the 8th inning to put his side 3-2 up.

The Yankees held on and claimed a 3-2 win. While speaking to the reporters after the game, the 28-year-old claimed he loved the chants against him.

I love it, kind of. I feel like those were the loudest chants we heard all day. It was great.

The Bahamas-born star was slow to trot around the bases after his go-ahead home run. When asked if this slow trot was a response to the fans, he nodded his head.

Yeah, it was really for the fans.

Before this home run, Chisholm Jr. was 0-for-6 with two walks in this series against the Guardians. His home run helped them seal a 3-2 win and claim the series.

Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s home run against Guardians was his second homer with Aaron Judge’s bat

Jazz Chisholm Jr. shushed the home crowd at Progressive Field with a huge home run against the Cleveland Guardians in the top of the 8th inning. This home run was his second homer while using the bat of Aaron Judge.

Last week, the Yankees placed Judge on the injured list after reports revealed that he had fractured a rib. The 3-time MLB MVP had been in discomfort for a while but kept on playing through the pain due to injuries to other key players.

While the team cannot call him to play at the moment, they can use his equipment. On Sunday, Chisholm Jr. used Judge’s bat against the Boston Red Sox and crushed a 3-run homer with it. He was 0-for-3 with 3 strikeouts before this change.

While the first time was so nice, Chisholm Jr. decided to do it twice. After undergoing another mini-slump, he switched to Judge’s bat. He ended up homering again and helping the Yankees win.

Apart from this, he was also using Giancarlo Stanton‘s pants. Perhaps the borrowed items bring some luck for him.

The win on Tuesday was the Yankees’ first series win of the year against a team starting the day at over .500 win percentage mark. They will look to complete the sweep on Wednesday before taking on the Toronto Blue Jays.
