Earlier this week, Jazz Chisholm Jr. made an appearance on “The Tonight Show” hosted by Jimmy Fallon. On Tuesday, a Cleveland Guardians broadcaster aimed at the New York Yankees star and brought up his appearance on this show.

After winning the series against the Athletics, the Yankees had a day off on Monday. Chisholm Jr. would make the most of his leave and appeared on the Jimmy Fallon Show at Manhattan’s Rockefeller Center.

During this appearance, the infielder was asked about his goals for this year. He claimed that the Yankees would go on to win the World Series this year.

I mean, to win the World Series. (We’re gonna do it) for sure.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. said on The Tonight Show

On Tuesday, the Yankees kicked off a 3-game set against the Guardians, who sit at the top of the American League Central standings. During the first game of this series, Guardians’ radio voice Tom Hamilton brought up the comments of the 2-time All-Star.

In the middle of the second inning, the veteran broadcaster threw a shade at Chisholm Jr. for his appearance by bringing up his batting average for the season.

He predicted the Yankees will win the World Series. He did that on the Jimmy Fallon show. Pretty amazing he got on the Jimmy Fallon show batting .239.

Tom Hamilton said regarding Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Chisholm Jr. has struggled offensively this year. He went 1-for-4 and struck out twice in the game on Tuesday.

The Yankees managed to put up just 4 runs through 8 hits as Cam Schlittler gave up a career high 4 runs. For the Guardians, Jose Ramirez once again came up clutch with 3 doubles and helped them to a 9-4 series opener victory.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. had made some big comments regarding himself earlier this season

Jazz Chisholm Jr. got trolled by Tom Hamilton for his comments regarding the New York Yankees winning the World Series this year. This is, however, not the first time the player has made some bold statements this season.

During the Spring Training this year, the star was asked about his goals for the season. He claimed that he wanted to be the next member of the 50-50 club.

The 50-50 club is a rare class that was founded by Shohei Ohtani in 2024. In his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Japanese international became the first player to hit 50 home runs and have 50 stolen bases in a single season.

When the reporters brought up this topic, Chisholm Jr. confidently expressed that they (the reporters) were looking at the 2nd member of the 50-50 club.

You’re looking at the second one.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. on joining the 50-50 club

Last season, Chisholm Jr. had a career high of 31 home runs. He also stole 31 bases and joined the 30-30 club in MLB. He thus wants to be part of the exclusive 50-50 club.

Following the game against the Guardians on Tuesday, Chisholm Jr. has 6 home runs and 14 stolen bases in 57 games. If the Yankees are to win the World Series this season, they will need him to break out of this slump and start firing.

At the moment, the Bronx Bombers are 36-24, 1 game behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East division. With June underway, they will be hoping to avoid having a slump in this month like in previous years.
