Jazz Chisholm Jr.‘s foul ball was felt by almost everyone present at Yankee Stadium on Thursday. The infielder was forced to leave the game after a painful blow to the groin in the match against the Chicago White Sox.

The New York Yankees, who are without their captain, Aaron Judge, took to the field on Thursday, hoping to sweep the White Sox. The AL Central has been on the rise this year and find themselves in the mix of a division title race with the Cleveland Guardians.

On Wednesday, Chisholm Jr. was one of those who homered for the Yankees. His home run, along with long shots of Paul Goldschmidt and Cody Bellinger, saw the Bronx Bombers beat the White Sox 10-5 and win the series.

The last thing they wanted was to see another star player go down. The team is already without Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Max Fried at the moment.

In the 4th inning of the game, Chisholm Jr. came up to bat against Sean Burke. With the game tied at 1-1, the Yankees star swung his bat on a 0-1 pitch. He ended up fouling the ball as it bounced off the ground.

Unfortunately for him, the ball then hit him in the sensitive groin area. He immediately went down and was seen in immense pain.

At first glance, some Yankees players, including Judge, were seen smiling in the dugout. However, after Chisholm Jr. was forced to leave the game, the smiles faded from their faces.

Several players usually wear a protective cup for safety reasons. It appeared that Jazz Chisholm Jr. was not wearing one on Thursday.

The 2-time MLB All-Star had fouled off a pitch off his leg on Wednesday. However, this one was a bit more uncomfortable and painful for him. Anthony Volpe later came in his place and played as the pinch hitter.

Aaron Boone is hoping Jazz Chisholm Jr. is fine as Yankees lose 5-1

Jazz Chisholm Jr. got hurt after fouling off the ball to his groin. The Yankees went on to lose the game 5-1 and failed to get the sweep. Following the game, manager Aaron Boone did not state an official cause for his exit and simply hoped he was doing fine.

The White Sox loaded up the bases in the 8th inning. After a double from Sam Antonacci, relief pitcher Tim Hill hit two successive batters with the pitch.

He was then replaced by Camilo Doval. The pitcher went up against former Yankees star Andrew Benintendi, who replaced Randal Grichuk as the pinch hitter.

On the very first pitch, he connected for a grand slam. This saw the White Sox take a 5-1 lead with one swing off the bat from Benintendi.

With this win, the White Sox stopped the Yankees’ 4-game winning streak. After the game, Aaron Boone was asked about an update regarding Jazz Chisholm Jr. and whether he had heard anything about him.

I’m hoping he is [okay]. I haven’t heard anything yet.

Aaron Boone said regarding Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Chisholm Jr. has been batting with a .228 average and has 10 home runs, 30 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases in 70 games. Out of this, 4 home runs and 10 RBIs have come in the last 15 games. So the timing of this injury could be a major blow for the Yankees.

Following this series, the AL East side will turn its attention towards the Cincinnati Reds. After this weekend series, they will be on the road and take on the Detroit Tigers in a 3-game series before locking horns once again with the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
