The NACAR Cup Series race at COTA was won in dominating fashion by Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron. Moreover, the driver seemed to be in control throughout the race and really showcased his racing acumen throughout the road course race. He started the race on pole and went on to secure the trophy after overcoming a masterful late charge by Christopher Bell.
After the race, Vice Chairman of Hendrick Motorsports and four-times NASCAR Cup champion Jeff Gordon showered a lot of praise towards Willaim Byron. Gordon, who won his championships with the same team number, commended the driver on his performance throughout the weekend and spoke about he how is doing something really special and leading the HMS to a new direction.
To go out there and win a pole and then dominate the race the way they did. But also there were some challeneges thrown their way with some of the strategy that got mixed up, The guys were just solid on paper, William just never made a wrong move and obviously had a good race car. Jeff Gordon seemed to be really impressed by Byron. If the American continues performing like this throughout the season, then just like he did last season, a maiden Cup Series title is a lot closer for the youngster. This win also is a proof of Byron’s dominance in the Next-Gen era as he has been the first driver to win multiple races in the three seasons of the era.

After the win at the NASCAR Cup Series race at COTA by William Byron, Vice Chairman of Hendrick Motorsports Jeff Gordon commended his team. Gordon spoke about how he thinks his team really turned it up with their win at the Daytona 500 as well as COTA.
To start the season with a Daytona 500 win, back it up with a tough weekend and battle through and challenge through a challenging weekend is gonna set them kind of on a new pace. Its been a great start for Hendrick Motorsport in this 40th anniversary year.Jeff Gordon after the win at COTA
The Hendrick Motorsports team seemed to be totally locked in this year. Gordon also commended his team’s strategical masterclass and pitstop efficiency throughout the race weekend at COTA. With this being the team’s 40th anniversary, the brilliant performances just seem to be even more valuable.
Kyle Larson and Willaim Byron has already secured playoff spot. But HMS has to focus on their other two drivers. Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott who has been winless over year and hasn’t really challenged for wins so far this season.
