With just over 3 seconds remaining, the Detroit Pistons inbounded the ball to their best offensive player, Jerami Grant. He faked a pass to Blake Griffin and as the buzzer went clocked-out, his layup did not affect the outcome of the game as Houston Rockets won 103-102 against the Detroit Pistons. As the buzzer went out, Grant collided with P.J.Tucker. But after the replays were cross-checked it came to fact that the collision after the clock was done.

Talking about the Houston Rockets, they were led by veteran Eric Gordon who scored 20 points. While Victor Oladipo scored 15 to end a 3-game losing streak for the Rockets. Jerami Grant scored 21 points for Detroit Pistons. Blake Griffin’s 3-pointer with 29.9 seconds remaining made it 103-102, and the Pistons stopped Houston at the other end to set up Grant’s final bid.

Detroit coach Dwane Casey felt a foul could have been called earlier on the final play. Grant was pressured quickly after receiving the ball.

“I thought he got fouled three times before he got to the rim,” Casey said.

The Rockets were without John Wall and Christian Wood but had seven players score in double figures.

“Everybody kind of played a role and did their job. It feels good,” Houston coach Stephen Silas said. “The crazy part is, if that foul had been point-one second earlier, then we wouldn’t feel so good, I guess.”

It doesn’t seem to be going the Pistons way at the moment in the 2020-21 season with 3-12 record tally. Whereas for the Rockets, they have ended their 3-match loss streak to win a nail-bitter.
