Jeremiah Smith is building a highlight reel for himself before announcing for the NFL in the future. The dynamic wide receiver once again caught a camera highlight-worthy catch when the Ohio State Buckeyes faced the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The Buckeyes carried the ball to Iowa’s 1st & Goal after 6 minutes of play in the third quarter. Quarterback Will Howard ignored the motion man asking for the ball and let it fly, aiming near the left side of the Iowa red zone.
The pass was slightly higher to avoid the Hawkeyes’ corner. It mattered less as super rookie Jeremiah Smith twisted his body enough to extend his right arm and plucked the ball up from the sky for a Buckeyes touchdown. Their second of the day.

It was almost identical to the catch against Michigan State. The country’s top-rated recruit from Miami Gardens scored two touchdowns in the first half, one of them being a one-handed 27-yard run to the end zone.
Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day praised Smith.

He has only played four previous games at the NCAA FBS level, and yet he reads the game like his cousin Geno Smith. Before the game against the Hawkeyes, Smith had caught 19 passes for 364 yards and five touchdowns.
Jeremiah Smith leads Ohio State to a dominant win over the Hawkeyes
If Smith was the speedster, then Will Howard was the field general who outplayed the Hawkeyes. Before setting up the 18-year-old for a touchdown, Howard set up senior Emeka Egbuka for a 14-yard touchdown. Following the snap, he faked the jet sweep and then threw the pass while in motion to find Egbuka to open the scoring on the day.
Egbuka scored two more as the game progressed. In the third quarter on 1st & 10, Howard ignored Smith’s run on the right side and threw the ball on man coverage to Egbuka for his second touchdown of the night.

His final homer after an interval of five minutes. Howard shotgunned the pass to a single-man Hawkeye coverage on Egbuka, who caught the pass while running backward into the endzone.

Iowa scored the final touchdown of the game, but they were already down by more than 30 points. Eventually, the game ended 35-7 as the #3 ranked team in the country won their 5th straight game of the season.
Jeremiah Smith ended the night with 4 catches for 89 yards and 1 touchdown. Will Howard completed 21 of 25 for 209 yards, 4 passing touchdowns, and 1 rushing touchdown as Emeka Egbuka caught three of them; in total, he had 9 receptions for 71 yards. Up next, the Buckeyes will play against the #6-ranked Oregon Ducks.
