“Once the door closes there will be no respect,” says Jessica Andrade on her fight with Valentina Shevchenko
Jessica Andrade and Valentina Shevchenko
Former UFC women’s strawweight champion Jessica Andrade is going to face the flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko, at UFC 261, and this one is for all the marbles.
Jessica Andrade has admitted that she thinks Valentina is a better fighter than Amanda Nunes, and preparing for her was incredibly tough, but her perspective will change once the Octagon door closes.
Andrade thinks all her previous opponents gets way too much influenced by her background, but that won’t be the case with her, in the pre-fight conference she said, “A lot of opponents that get in there with Valentina respect her way too much and they might be afraid of her because of her history. But as much respect that I have outside, once the door closes there will be no respect and I’m going to be in her face the entire time. You can expect five rounds of pressure.”
“I believe in myself. I know my potential and I know I can make it into a fight.”
“This Saturday, I’m going to do my best for all the fans out there,” says Jessica Andrade
Jessica Andrade has been looking to reclaim the title ever since she lost it, she won her last fight against Katlyn Chookagian with a brutal body shot in the very first round, and is looking to carry that momentum in this fight as well.
In the press conference she added, “This Saturday, I’m going to do my best for all the fans out there. It’s a big chance for me to put a big stamp on my legacy – not just for mine, but my whole team and everybody who’s been working with me for so long.”
We are very excited to see this one happen and a war is promised for sure out of this one.
