Aaron Rodgers could not help Davante Adams in his New York Jets debut as Russell Wilson and Pittsburgh Steelers run riot.

Davante Adams joining the New York Jets made them an instant favorite to win against the Pittsburgh Steelers late Sunday night. The superstar joined his favorite QB Aaron Rodgers and a stud receiving core that could deflate any opposition on any day. But Russell Wilson, starting his first game with the Steelers, and his vaunted defensive teammates, had other ideas.
For the majority of the first half, the game went as it was expected. Russell Wilson starting his first game this season struggled to get his team scoring on anything other than a couple of field goals.
With former President Donald Trump present, the Steelers intercepted Rodgers and then Wilson connected with WR George Pickens to notch his first passing touchdown as a Steeler. But as they walked into the locker rooms, they knew all too well that the Jets had yet to unleash Davante Adams.

But the Pittsburgh Steelers defense has a reputation for being stingy. They did just that as they first stopped Aaron Rodgers in their third quarter opening drive. Then Beanie Bishop Jr. again intercepted his pass on their next possession. Now with the ball back in the hands of Wilson at the Jets 1 yard line, he ran it in to net his first rushing touchdown for this team.
Wilson had one more passing touchdown in him as he sent his team to an almost three possession lead. Najee Harris added to the score and sent the Jets packing from a game they were expected to win. Most interestingly, were the lack of touches for Davante Adams.
Davante Adams shocking debut has fans lighting up the internet
The superstar receiver caught three passes for 30 yards. Not game-changing numbers by any length of one’s imagination. But the Jets brought him in to be the game-changer.
Aaron Rodgers could not even get the ball into his favorite receiver’s hands as they exited drives without scoring points. Fans started questioning if it was a testament to the Steelers’ defense. Or the complete lack of an offensive game plan from Rodgers and the Jets.
As the team heads in the wrong direction with every passing game, more questions arise. Fans especially took the opportunity to ask who the next blame was going to be leveled at. Examples of such comments on social media are below;

What’s next in Aaron Rodger’s demands? He’s going to be asking to play in Lambeau Field next!

If anything, being part of a losing effort was not what Davante Adams had hoped for.
Now the New York Jets are standing at 2-5, just a game away from tying with the league’s worst. With time running out, the team has to figure something out, quickly.
