The 27th October edition of Monday Night Raw aired from Anaheim and featured a splendid build to the upcoming World title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The show opened with a recap of Jey Uso’s big win in last week’s qualifying battle royal. Inside the ring, the championship belt sat proudly on a podium as Uso made his entrance to address the crowd.
On the mic, he spoke about how everyone, from Roman Reigns to Jimmy Uso, had been in his ear lately. But he made it clear that he didn’t care what anyone thought anymore. This Saturday, it was all about him. Uso then declared his intention confidently and promised to capture the title.
“I got Roman in my ear. I got Jimmy in my ear. Everybody momma in my ear, but I’m gonna tell y’all this right now, uce. Right now, I don’t give a damn what they think about me.

But before he could finish, CM Punk’s music hit. The crowd’s reaction was so loud that Punk jokingly restarted his entrance before cutting it short and apologizing to Uso for stealing his moment, or, as he put it, his “four letters, one word.” Punk said he was happy for Uso, acknowledging that he was finally trusting himself and tuning out all the outside noise.
Punk reminded everyone that he and Jey were friends, which made their upcoming title match even harder. The Chicago native explained that he has always followed his gut and believed in himself, though that’s easy when one is winning and much harder when they are losing. As Punk spoke, he noted that Jey’s body language already told him everything he needed to know.
He praised Uso for eliminating his brother from the battle royal, calling it proof that the former World Champion had the drive to succeed. When the crowd booed the mention of Jimmy Uso, Punk quickly defended Jey, saying it was within the rules and showing that he was ready to do whatever it took.
Punk then challenged Uso directly, asking how far he was truly willing to go if he was really listening only to himself. He emphasized that he wasn’t asking “Big Jim’s brother” or “Little Roman” but was asking Main Event Jey Uso. Punk said he needed to be champion again just as badly as he needed air to breathe, and he knew exactly how far he’d go to make that happen.
Then, turning serious, he told Jey to think about what happens when he’s face-down on the mat, after Punk knocks him out, and realizes he can’t yeet his way out of it. Jey finally fired back, saying he has been in deep waters before and knows how to swim. He accused Punk of trying to twist the story to make the crowd side with him and paint Uso as the bad guy.
With fire in his voice, Jey told Punk, “Screw you,” and promised to prove on Saturday night who the real “Best in the World” is. He closed with his signature defiance, “Four letters, one word… uh-huh, yeet!”
Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso have a heated confrontation regarding last week’s Battle Royal
Apart from a fiery opening segment on Raw in California, Jey Uso also had a tense backstage confrontation with Jimmy Uso. For those unaware, ‘The Yeet Master’ eliminated ‘Big Jim’ during last week’s World Heavyweight Championship qualifying battle royal to earn his spot in the upcoming title match.

And as a result, Jey will now face CM Punk on Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1 for the vacant championship. Owing to what happened at the start of the show, Jimmy was furious over what happened in the battle royal.
He then accused Jey of always thinking about himself and warned that if it ever came down to a real confrontation, Jey wouldn’t be afraid to find out what happens next. Later in the night, Jey approached Jimmy to clear the air. He told his brother that he would always love him, but didn’t appreciate how Jimmy came at him earlier.
The former World Champion explained that he is already dealing with a lot, from their cousin Roman Reigns to ‘The Vision’, and most importantly, his upcoming match against Punk. Jey added that he doesn’t have much real estate left to handle any more drama.
Jimmy then nodded in agreement, and the two shared their signature handshake, but Jimmy’s expression told a different story, one of doubt and confusion as his brother walked away. With tensions clearly rising, it remains to be seen if WWE will pull the trigger and turn Jey Uso heel to give his character a fresh new direction.
