Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma announced the wrap of her upcoming sports drama Chakdah Xpress which is about the life of the legendary Indian woman bowler Jhulan Goswami. The shooting of the film started in June 2022 and finally, it has been wrapped up. The forthcoming drama, which will stream on Netflix, is directed by Prosit Joshi and produced by Clean Slate Films.

Anushka Sharma took to her official Instagram handle to announce that the team has wrapped up the shooting. Take a look at the pictures where Anushka is donning the Indian jersey of Team India and cuts the cake with Jhulan and Prosit. “It’s a wrap on #ChakdaXpress, and thank you @JhulanGoswami for the final clap to bring an end to the shoot!“

Earlier also, Anushka posted pictures to share a glimpse of the film. She wrote: “It’s really special film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice. Chakda Xpress is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket. At a time when Jhulan decided to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage, it was very tough for women to even think of playing the sport. This film is a dramatic retelling of several instances that shaped her life and also women’s cricket.”

Goswami, one of the fastest bowlers in women’s cricket, made her debut for India on January 6, 2002, in an ODI match against England. She bid adieu to the game on September 24 after playing her last ODI, against England at Lord’s. In 12 Tests, she scalped 44 wickets, while in 204 ODIs, she bagged 255 wickets. In T20Is, he picked up 56 wickets from 68 matches.

Talking about her records, she stands first on the list of most balls bowled in her career (10005). She is the second cricketer, after former India captain Mithali Raj, to have the longest career in ODIs (20 years). The 40-year-old is also the youngest player (23 years old) to take ten wickets in a Test match. In ODIs, she is the second on the list of the most catches in career (69).
